⭐ What a pillar mount is for, and why it is not a post

• ✅ It sits on masonry you already have — a brick gate pier, a rendered entrance column, a capped wall. No footing, no post, no digging.
• ⭐ Which is the practical argument for it. Every CHESTER post in this catalogue has no footing specification recorded, and that is the gap we keep flagging. A pillar mount sidesteps it entirely: the structure is already there and already engineered.
• ✅ At 670 mm it adds real height to a pier without looking like a post stuck on top — a 1 m pier plus this reads at about 1.67 m, close to the 1.96 m single post.

The datasheet's “Requires: Lamp GT-131…” line is the CHESTER series code — every traditional-lantern family here has one, and each has a matching GTA replacement diffuser. For CHESTER that is the GTA-131 panel set.

⭐ The acrylic is the part that fails on these lanterns: UV yellows and embrittles it over years while the cast body lasts decades. ✅ Nothing extra is required to install this one.
