The Domus ZEKE-PRO-5 square surface-mounted, 240 V is a mains surface step light — 240 V AC, 5 W, 305–365 lumens, CRI ≥90, IP65, not dimmable, in black or white.

⭐ A square fitting on a wall has to be set to something

• ⭐ The square and round ZEKE-PRO-5 are identical in every published specification. ⭐⭐ SO THE CHOICE IS ENTIRELY ABOUT WHAT SURROUNDS IT.
• ⭐⭐ A SQUARE SURFACE FITTING ALIGNS — OR VISIBLY FAILS TO. ⭐ Set to a brick course, a tile grid, a paver joint or a rendered reveal it reads as part of the wall. ⚠ Set a few degrees off, or between courses, it reads as a mistake, and it is the sort of mistake that is invisible on a drawing and obvious on the wall.
• ⭐ A ROUND FITTING HAS NO ALIGNMENT TO GET WRONG, which is why it is the safer choice on render, natural stone or anything irregular.
• ⭐ SO: SQUARE ON COURSED, GEOMETRIC SURFACES; ROUND ON IRREGULAR ONES. ⚠ And pick one for the whole property — mixing them is the commonest way a good step-lighting scheme goes wrong.
• ⭐ A SURFACE UNIT IS ALSO THE ONE YOU CAN STILL MOVE. ⭐ Getting the alignment right is a matter of marking carefully, not of re-coring masonry.

⛔ Its datasheet says 4 W where its spec table says 5 W

⭐ The prose claims “a minimal power consumption of 4W” while the spec table on the same page says 5W. ⭐ Measured: all four ZEKE-PRO-5 sheets do this, and two of them name the product ZEKE-PRO-4 — boilerplate carried from a superseded model. ⭐ Take the spec table: 5 W and 305–365 lm. ⭐ Everything else on the sheet cross-checks against the range.

⭐ Surface mounting — no hole, and reversible

• ⭐⭐ SAME ENGINE AS THE RECESSED ZAC-PRO, with the same output, CRI and beam. ⭐ No coring, no chasing, no box cast into a stair — a cable and two fixings.
• ⭐⭐ AND IT IS REVERSIBLE: a surface fitting in the wrong place leaves two holes, where a recessed one leaves a hole to patch. ⭐ On a scheme where the right positions only become obvious after dark, that is worth real money.
• ⚠ THE COSTS: it projects, so keep it out of the walking line; and it is visible in daylight. ⭐ Black recedes against most masonry; white announces itself — and on a square unit set to a course, black usually reads better because the shadow line does the aligning for you.

⛔ Not dimmable, and the 24 V version is

⭐ The sheet says dimmable = No. ⚠ Do not put it on a dimmer circuit — it will flicker, buzz or fail. ⭐ The dimming lives in the driver, and a mains fitting has its supply built in with nowhere to put the choice. ⭐ ALL 6 low-voltage step lights in the range dim; ⚠ 4 of 10 mains ones do too, so this is a tendency rather than a law — check the individual product rather than inferring from the voltage. ⭐ If the level is at all uncertain, take the 24 V version.

⭐ What mains buys: no driver to fail

⭐⭐ NO DRIVER TO SIZE, SITE OR REPLACE, AND NO VOLTAGE DROP TO CALCULATE. ⭐ On a short run that is a real saving, and it removes the component most likely to fail — an external driver usually goes years before the LEDs. ⚠ The arithmetic flips on a long run: ten mains fittings is ten mains connections against one driver and ten easy joints. ⭐ Roughly, mains wins below about four fittings.

⭐ CRI ≥90, the chromate process, and modest output

⭐ At CRI ≥90 sandstone, brick, timber and render keep their colour, and those are exactly what a step light washes from 300 mm away — most exterior step lights run CRI 70 to 80. ⭐ The chromate conversion coating before powder coat is what keeps the finish attached, and on a surface fitting the whole body is exposed rather than just a trim. ⭐ 305/348/365 lm is deliberately modest: a step light shows where the ground changes, and a bright one at that height is a glare source in the eye-line. ⭐ Set 3000 K outdoors. ⛔ Its application field says “Indoor” — one of 78 IP65+ products that do.
