The Domus ZEKE-PRO-5 round surface-mounted, 24 V is a low-voltage surface step light — 12/24 V DC, 5 W, 305–365 lumens, CRI ≥90, IP65, dimmable, in black or white.

⛔⛔ The dangerous fault, and two harmless ones

• ⛔⛔⛔ ITS RECORD PUBLISHES voltage = 240V AND ac_dc = AC ON A 12/24 V DC FITTING. ⭐ Connecting it to mains destroys it instantly and is a shock and fire risk. ⭐ The title says 24V and the title is right.
• ⭐ Confirmed with two independent signals: 14 products flagged by their datasheet, 26 by their title, 12 by both — and the intersection is the answer because each list's false positives are dropped by the other.
• ⛔ Its datasheet also calls the product ZEKE-PRO-4 and claims 4 W in prose while its own spec table says 5 W. ⭐ Superseded boilerplate; take the spec table.
• ⭐ THIS PRODUCT AND ITS SQUARE SIBLING ARE THE ONLY 2 OF 14 comparable products whose sheet never names their own model. ⭐ A narrow, specific fault rather than a systemic one.

⭐ Round rather than square — where each one belongs

• ⭐ The round and square ZEKE-PRO-5 are identical in every published specification. ⭐⭐ SO THE CHOICE IS ENTIRELY ABOUT WHAT SURROUNDS THE FITTING.
• ⭐ A ROUND FITTING HAS NO ALIGNMENT TO GET WRONG. ⭐ On render, natural stone, rammed earth or anything irregular that is a genuine advantage — a square unit on an irregular surface reads as slightly off unless it is set perfectly, and it rarely is.
• ⭐ A SQUARE ONE ALIGNS WITH BRICK COURSES, TILE GRIDS AND PAVER JOINTS, which on coursed masonry reads as deliberate where a circle reads as applied.
• ⭐ PICK ONE AND USE IT THROUGHOUT. ⚠ Mixing round and square on one property is the thing that looks unresolved, and it is the commonest way a good step-lighting scheme goes wrong.

⭐ Surface mounting — what it saves and what it costs

• ⭐⭐ SAME ENGINE AS THE RECESSED ZAC-PRO: same 305/348/365 lm, same CRI ≥90, same 120° beam. ⭐ The difference is that it sits on the wall instead of in it.
• ⭐⭐ WHICH MAKES IT THE ANSWER FOR ANYTHING ALREADY BUILT. ⭐ No coring, no chasing, no box cast into a stair — a cable and two fixings. ⭐ On a finished masonry wall that is the difference between a half-day job and a fortnight.
• ⚠ THE COST IS THAT IT PROJECTS. ⭐ Keep it out of the walking line — above a handrail line, or on a return face rather than the face people brush past.
• ⚠ AND A SURFACE FITTING IS VISIBLE IN DAYLIGHT. ⭐ A recessed unit disappears into the wall; a surface one is an object on it, so the finish choice matters more — black recedes against most masonry, white announces itself.

⭐ Dimmable, and the tendency behind it

⭐ This dims with a dimmable driver; ⛔ the 240 V version does not. ⭐ The driver is external on a low-voltage fitting, so the choice exists. ⭐ WE CHECKED WHETHER IT GENERALISES: all 6 low-voltage step lights in the range dim, ⚠ but 4 of 10 mains ones do too. ⭐ A strong tendency rather than a law — low voltage guarantees the option and mains does not rule it out, so check the individual product rather than assuming from the voltage.

⭐ The driver, and where to put it

⭐ A 12/24 V DC constant-voltage driver, wired in parallel — each fitting draws its own 5 W from a shared voltage, so one driver runs several and a failure does not propagate. ⭐ Size it with headroom: six of these is 30 W, so a 60 W driver runs cool and lasts. ⚠ AND SITE IT SOMEWHERE REACHABLE — it is the part most likely to need replacing, and burying it behind a finished wall turns a ten-minute job into demolition. ⚠ Watch voltage drop on long runs too; at 24 V cable resistance matters where at 240 V it would not.

⭐ CRI ≥90, and 305–365 lumens on purpose

⭐ Most exterior step lights run CRI 70 to 80. ⭐ At CRI ≥90 sandstone, brick and timber keep their colour — and those are exactly the materials a step light washes from 300 mm away. ⭐ The output is deliberately modest: a step light shows where the ground changes rather than lighting the garden, and a bright one at that height is a glare source in the eye-line that destroys night vision. ⭐ Set 3000 K outdoors.
