The Domus AURA is a 3 W recessed LED step light in black or white — a Ø35 mm cutout, CRI above 90, switchable 2700 K / 4000 K / 6000 K, dimmable, in five fascia designs.
✅ The fascia is the product. The body is the same in every case; what changes is the shape of the opening, and each one throws a different pattern and a different amount of light:
| Fascia | 2700 K | 4000 K | 6000 K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slot | 26 lm | 31 lm | 30 lm |
| Wide | 25 lm | 30 lm | 30 lm |
| Narrow | 12 lm | 15 lm | 15 lm |
| Round Ring | 10 lm | 12 lm | 12 lm |
| Square Ring | 10 lm | 11 lm | 11 lm |
⚠ The Slot puts out three times what the rings do from the same 3 W chip — because the rings are mostly closed fascia. Choose the fascia for the effect, then check the output is enough for the job.
10 to 31 lumens is very little light — less even than the 18 lm step markers elsewhere in this catalogue at their dimmest.
⚠ The datasheet also lists a sixth fascia, “Halo” (7–9 lm), which is not among the options here. Ask us if you want it — we will check with Domus whether it is still available.
Most low-level markers do not quote colour rendering at all. Above 90 means that where the light lands — a timber tread, a stone wall, a carpet runner — the surface reads as its real colour rather than as a grey smudge. On a fitting whose whole job is grazing a nearby surface, that is more relevant than it first sounds.
Tell us which you need and how many fittings are on the run, and we will confirm the version and size the driver.
Die-cast aluminium, Ø35 mm cutout, 50,000 hours, dimmable with a suitable dimmer. The colour is set before installation. IP20 — indoor and dry only; this is not an outdoor step light.
⚠ No warranty is recorded for this product, and the sheet's own item table lists a different code range from these variants. Ask us to confirm both before a large order.
Cutout Ø35 mm, die-cast aluminium, black or white, in Slot, Wide, Narrow, Round Ring or Square Ring fascia. 3 W LED giving 10–31 lm depending on fascia and colour; 2700 K / 4000 K / 6000 K switchable, set before installation; CRI ≥90, 50,000 hrs, dimmable with a suitable dimmer. Available in 240 V or 24 V DC (driver required, not supplied) — tell us which. IP20 — indoor and dry only. ⚠ Warranty not recorded — ask us.

No, and it is worth being direct. At 10 to 31 lumens depending on fascia, these are markers: they show you where a step or a wall is, softly, without lighting the room. If you need to see the treads, ask us about recessed step lights with real output. Used in a run, though, they are exactly what makes a house navigable at night without switching anything bright on.
The Slot is the brightest at 31 lumens and the most architectural — it reads as a line in the wall. Wide is almost as bright with a softer edge and is the most useful on a stair. Narrow is a tighter version of the same. The Round Ring and Square Ring are the decorative choices: at 10 to 12 lumens they are almost purely visual, and a run of them reads as punctuation along a wall. Choose the fascia for the effect, then check the output is enough for the job.
Because the rings are mostly closed fascia — the same 3 W chip is behind all of them, and the opening decides how much gets out.
The datasheet lists one, at 7 to 9 lumens, and it is not among the options on this page. Either it has been discontinued or it is missing from the listing — ask us and we will check with Domus.
240 V wires directly to mains like any other fitting. The 24 V version needs a constant-voltage LED driver, which is not supplied, and is worth it on a long run: one driver feeds many fittings and low-voltage cabling is simpler through a stair or a wall cavity. Tell us which you need and how many fittings are on the run, and we will confirm the version and size the driver.
No — IP20 is indoor and dry only. Ask us for an outdoor equivalent.
It decides whether the surface the light lands on — a timber tread, a stone wall, a carpet runner — reads as its real colour or as a grey smudge. On a fitting whose whole job is grazing a nearby surface, that matters more than it first sounds. Most low-level markers do not quote colour rendering at all.
