Domus AURA 240V RND 3W LED TRIO IP20 Steplight

The Domus AURA RND is a 3 W recessed LED step light in black or white — a Ø35 mm cutout, CRI above 90, switchable 2700 K / 4000 K / 6000 K, dimmable, in all six fascia designs.

✅ The Halo — what the sixth fascia actually is

At 7–9 lumens the Halo is the dimmest fitting in this entire catalogue, and that is its purpose. It produces a thin ring of light around a closed centre — a glowing outline rather than any kind of wash.

• ✅ It is purely visual: a line of Halos along a wall reads as punctuation, marking a route without lighting it at all.
• ✅ Right in a home cinema, a dark hallway or a bedroom passage, where even 30 lumens would be intrusive at night.
• ⛔ It shows you nothing. If you need to see a step, use the Slot or the Wide.

⚠ These are markers, not stair lighting

7 to 31 lumens is very little light — less at its dimmest than any other fitting here.

• ✅ They show you where a step or a wall is, softly, at low level, without lighting the room.
• ⛔ They do not light a staircase. If you need to see the treads, ask us about recessed step lights with real output.
• ✅ In a run along a hallway or stair, they are exactly what makes a house navigable at night without switching anything bright on.

Which fascia, and what each is for

• Slot — a horizontal bar. The brightest and most architectural: it reads as a line in the wall.
• Wide — a broad asymmetric wash down the wall. Almost as bright, softer edged, and the most useful on a stair.
• Narrow — a tighter, more contained mark.
• Round Ring / Square Ring — a glowing outline. Decorative, at 10–12 lm.
• Halo — the faintest outline of all, at 7–9 lm.

✅ Round Ring and Square Ring let you match the fascia to the room — square in a room of square detailing, round where the joinery is softer. That is the sort of choice that reads as considered rather than accidental.

✅ CRI above 90 — unexpected on a fitting this small

Most low-level markers do not quote colour rendering at all. Above 90 decides whether the surface the light lands on — a timber tread, a stone wall, a carpet runner — reads as its real colour or as a grey smudge. On a fitting whose whole job is grazing a nearby surface, that matters more than it sounds.

⚠ Two voltages — choose the right one

• 240 V — wires directly to mains.
• 24 V DC — requires a constant-voltage LED driver, not supplied. ✅ Worth it on a long run: one driver feeds many fittings, and low-voltage cabling is simpler through a stair or wall cavity.
