The Domus AURA RND is a 3 W recessed LED step light in black or white — a Ø35 mm cutout, CRI above 90, switchable 2700 K / 4000 K / 6000 K, dimmable, in all six fascia designs.
✅ This listing carries the full set of six fascia designs — including the Halo, which the companion AURA listing does not stock. The body is identical in every case; what changes is the shape of the opening, and each throws a different pattern and a different amount of light:
| Fascia | 2700 K | 4000 K | 6000 K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slot | 26 lm | 31 lm | 30 lm |
| Wide | 25 lm | 30 lm | 30 lm |
| Narrow | 12 lm | 15 lm | 15 lm |
| Round Ring | 10 lm | 12 lm | 12 lm |
| Square Ring | 10 lm | 11 lm | 11 lm |
| Halo | 7 lm | 9 lm | 9 lm |
⚠ The Slot puts out more than three times what the Halo does from the same 3 W chip — because the Halo is almost entirely closed fascia. Choose the fascia for the effect, then check the output is enough for the job.
At 7–9 lumens the Halo is the dimmest fitting in this entire catalogue, and that is its purpose. It produces a thin ring of light around a closed centre — a glowing outline rather than any kind of wash.
7 to 31 lumens is very little light — less at its dimmest than any other fitting here.
✅ Round Ring and Square Ring let you match the fascia to the room — square in a room of square detailing, round where the joinery is softer. That is the sort of choice that reads as considered rather than accidental.
Most low-level markers do not quote colour rendering at all. Above 90 decides whether the surface the light lands on — a timber tread, a stone wall, a carpet runner — reads as its real colour or as a grey smudge. On a fitting whose whole job is grazing a nearby surface, that matters more than it sounds.
Tell us which you need and how many fittings are on the run, and we will confirm the version and size the driver.
Die-cast aluminium, Ø35 mm cutout, 50,000 hours, dimmable with a suitable dimmer. Colour set before installation. IP20 — indoor and dry only; not an outdoor step light. ⚠ No warranty is recorded for this product — ask us before a large order.
Cutout Ø35 mm, die-cast aluminium, black or white, in Slot, Wide, Narrow, Round Ring, Square Ring or Halo fascia. 3 W LED giving 9–31 lm depending on fascia and colour; 2700 K / 4000 K / 6000 K switchable, set before installation; CRI ≥90, 50,000 hrs, dimmable with a suitable dimmer. Available in 240 V or 24 V DC (driver required, not supplied) — tell us which. IP20 — indoor and dry only. ⚠ Warranty not recorded — ask us.

The sixth and faintest option — a thin ring of light around a closed centre, at 7 to 9 lumens. It is the dimmest fitting in this entire catalogue, and that is its purpose: a line of Halos reads as punctuation along a wall, marking a route without lighting it. Right in a home cinema, a dark hallway or a bedroom passage where even 30 lumens would be intrusive. It shows you nothing, though — if you need to see a step, use the Slot or the Wide.
No. At 7 to 31 lumens depending on fascia, these are markers: they show you where a step or a wall is without lighting the room. If you need to see the treads, ask us about recessed step lights with real output. In a run, though, they are exactly what makes a house navigable at night without switching anything bright on.
The Slot is brightest at 31 lumens and most architectural — a line in the wall. Wide is almost as bright with a softer edge and is the most useful on a stair. Narrow is a tighter mark. Round Ring and Square Ring are glowing outlines at 10 to 12 lumens, and let you match the fascia to the room — square where the detailing is square, round where the joinery is softer. Halo is the faintest of all.
Because the Halo is almost entirely closed fascia — the same 3 W chip is behind all six, and the shape of the opening decides how much light gets out.
240 V wires directly to mains. The 24 V version needs a constant-voltage LED driver, not supplied, and is worth it on a long run because one driver feeds many fittings and low-voltage cabling is simpler through a stair or wall cavity. Tell us which you need and how many fittings are on the run.
No — IP20 is indoor and dry only. Ask us for an outdoor equivalent.
