Tek-13 - 13W Colour Switchable Led Downlight Ip44 240V - Trio/Dali

The Domus TEK-13 is a 13 W flat-face LED downlight in black, white or satin chrome — only 31 mm deep, a 90° beam, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5700 K, in TRIO or DALI.

⚠ Check the cutout — the DECO and TEK are not interchangeable

The TEK-13 needs Ø90–95 mm. Its near neighbours do not match:

• DECO-13 fixed — Ø90 mm.
• DECO-13-TILT — Ø95 mm.
• TEK-13 — Ø90–95 mm (which is the forgiving one of the three).

✅ Because the TEK accepts a range, it will drop into a hole cut for either DECO. The reverse is not true. If you are mixing ranges on one job, plan around the TEK.

Flat face — what you gain and what you give up

• ✅ It nearly disappears. The lens sits close to flush, so switched off you see a ring and little else — in satin chrome or white against a matching ceiling, almost nothing.
• ✅ Wide 90° distribution — a genuine general room light. Plan roughly 2 m spacing from a 2.4 m ceiling.
• ⚠ More glare than a deep-set fitting. The source sits close to the ceiling surface, so at a shallow viewing angle it is brighter to look at than the DECO or the DEEP. In bedrooms and rooms people lie down in, a deep-set fitting is more comfortable.

✅ Satin chrome — an unusual third finish

Most downlights come in white and black. The TEK adds satin chrome, which is worth knowing if you are matching brushed tapware, brushed door hardware or stainless appliances — in a kitchen or bathroom it lets the downlights agree with the rest of the metalwork rather than sitting apart from it.

⚠ Two qualifiers the datasheet states and the page did not

• The IP44 applies from the underside, once installed into the ceiling. It is not a sealed fitting. For a genuine wet area or above a bath, ask us about the AQUA at IP65.
• Dimming is tested on the Domus dimmer series, and the sheet says it “may work on others but has not been tested” — materially weaker than “dimmable”. ✅ Tell us the dimmer you intend to use before ordering.

The numbers

• 800 lm at 3000 K, 850 lm at 4000 K, 900 lm at 5700 K.
• 65 lm/W, CRI ≥80, SMD, 50,000 hours.
• Ø101 mm face, aluminium.
• ⚠ The top setting is 5700 K, colder than the 5000 K many expect, set on a dip switch before installation.

TRIO or DALI

TRIO for a house, dimming from a suitable dimmer. DALI for addressable control on a bus — commercial, not domestic.

Where it works

• Concrete soffits, apartments, bulkheads and shallow batten spaces — 31 mm.
• General room lighting — about 2 m apart.
• Kitchens and bathrooms with brushed metalwork — satin chrome.
• ⚠ More glare than a deep-set fitting; think twice for bedrooms.
• ⚠ IP44 from the underside only — not a wet-area fitting.
