Swap-Step 8W LED Dimmable Downlight White / Tri-Colour - 21451

The Domus SWAP-STEP is an 8 W recessed LED downlight with a stepped fascia, IP44 and IK05, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5700 K, with an integrated dimmable driver. Cutout Ø90–100 mm.

What the stepped fascia does

• The face is recessed in a step rather than sitting flush, which sets the LED back from the ceiling line.
• ✅ Less glare at a shallow viewing angle — walking down a hallway towards a run of them, you see light rather than dots.
• ✅ It also reads as a deliberate detail on a plain ceiling, where a flat trim reads as a hole.
• ⚠ The rest of the SWAP range uses different fascias (sleek flat, deep set) on the same body, so the choice is aesthetic and glare-related, not performance.

The numbers

• 800 lm at 3000 K, 900 lm at 4000 K, 850 lm at 5700 K from 8 W.
• 60° beam — the standard residential downlight spread.
• Ø90–100 mm cutout, 40 mm deep. ✅ The 90–100 mm tolerance is generous, which makes it a good retrofit into an existing hole that has been enlarged or cut slightly oversize.
• CRI ≥80, SMD, 35,000 hours.
• ⚠ The cutout figure is on the datasheet and in no product field. If you are planning a ceiling from the record alone, it is not there.

IP44 and IK05 — two ratings, two different questions

• IP44 — protected against splashing water. Bathrooms outside the shower zone, laundries, covered alfrescos.
• IK05 — an impact rating, which is a different question entirely. ⚠ It appears on the datasheet and in no metafield, so it will not show up in any specification you pull from the record.
• ⚠ IK05 is modest — enough for a domestic ceiling, not a rating to quote for a car park or a school corridor.

Colour and dimming

Switchable by dip switch, and fully dimmable with suitable dimmers — the driver is integrated with a flex and plug.

• 3000 K living areas and bedrooms; 4000 K kitchens, bathrooms and laundries; 5700 K garages and workshops.
• ⚠ Set the switch before the fitting goes into the ceiling.
