The Domus SWAP-SLEEK is an 8 W flat-fascia LED downlight in white — 900 lumens, IP44, IK05, a forgiving Ø90–100 mm cutout, only 35 mm deep, and a five-year residential warranty.

✅ The Ø90–100 mm cutout — why this is the retrofit downlight

Most downlights specify a single cutout. This accepts anything from 90 to 100 mm:

• Replacing old halogen means inheriting whatever hole the last electrician cut — often 90 mm, sometimes 100, sometimes ragged. 10 mm of tolerance usually means it just goes in, without patching or re-cutting a ceiling.
• At 35 mm deep it also fits where the old fitting's void was shallow.

SLEEK or DEEP — the choice inside the range

Same output, same cutout, same warranty. The fascia is the difference:

• SLEEK (this one) — flat, near flush, 35 mm. It nearly vanishes into a ceiling, and it is the shallower of the two.
• DEEP — recessed anti-glare fascia, 56 mm. Lower glare, better in bedrooms and rooms people lie down in.
• ⚠ Do not mix them in one room — two fascia depths on one ceiling is visible.

✅ In white, the flat fascia is at its least obtrusive: against a white ceiling the fitting is close to invisible when switched off.

The numbers, honestly

• 800 lm at 3000 K, 900 lm at 4000 K, 850 lm at 5700 K — comparable to a 50 W halogen, from 8 W.
• 113 lm/W, CRI ≥80, 60° beam, SMD, clear lens.
• ⚠ 35,000 hours, where mainstream Domus downlights claim 50,000. The datasheet is candid that the SWAP range “incorporates cost saving materials”. At ordinary domestic use that is still well over twenty years.
• IP44 — usable in a bathroom outside the shower zone, subject to your electrician and AS/NZS 3000.
• IK05 — a 0.7 joule impact rating, rarely quoted on a domestic downlight, and enough to survive ordinary knocks during installation and cleaning.

With a 60° beam, plan roughly 1.5 m spacing from a 2.4 m ceiling.

Where it works

• Replacing old halogen — the forgiving cutout is the reason.
• Shallow ceilings — 35 mm.
• White ceilings, where a flat white fascia disappears.
• Bathrooms outside the shower zone — IP44.
• ⚠ More glare than the DEEP — think twice for bedrooms.
