The Domus SWAP-DEEP is an 8 W anti-glare deep-fascia downlight in white — 900 lumens, IP44, IK05, a forgiving Ø90–100 mm cutout, and a five-year residential warranty.
✅ Five years, and our record said nothing at all. The datasheet states a five-year residential warranty. That is longer than the three years most of this catalogue carries, and it was missing from our page — as it was on the SWAP-SLEEK. Both fittings in the range have the same gap.
Same output, same cutout, same warranty. The difference is the fascia, and it is a real one:
| SWAP-DEEP | SWAP-SLEEK | |
|---|---|---|
| Fascia | Deep-set, anti-glare | Flat, near flush |
| Height | 56 mm | 35 mm |
| Glare | Lower | Higher at a shallow angle |
Most downlights specify one cutout. This accepts anything from 90 to 100 mm, and that 10 mm of tolerance is what makes replacing old halogen straightforward: you inherit whatever hole the last electrician cut, often ragged, and this usually just goes in without patching or re-cutting.
⚠ At 56 mm it needs a little more void than the SLEEK — check before committing if the ceiling is tight.
With a 60° beam, plan roughly 1.5 m spacing from a 2.4 m ceiling.
Fully dimmable with a suitable dimmer, supplied with a dimmable LED driver and flex-and-plug. ⚠ Tell us which dimmer you plan to use.
⚠ The colour is set on a dip switch before installation, and the top setting is 5700 K — colder than the 5000 K many people expect. Decide first and set every fitting in a room the same.
Cutout Ø90–100 mm, height 56 mm, deep anti-glare fascia, white. 8 W SMD LED giving 800 / 900 / 850 lm at 3000 K / 4000 K / 5700 K, dip switch, set before installation; CRI ≥80, 60° beam, 35,000 hrs, clear lens. Fully dimmable with a suitable dimmer; dimmable driver and flex-and-plug supplied. 240 V AC, IP44, IK05. ✅ Five-year residential warranty — absent from our record.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Five years, residential — the datasheet states it and our record carried none at all. The same gap exists on the SWAP-SLEEK, so both fittings in the range were understating what the manufacturer offers. Five years is longer than the three most of this catalogue carries.
Same output, same cutout, same warranty — the difference is the fascia. DEEP has a recessed anti-glare face at 56 mm high, so you see lit surfaces rather than a bright dot: better for bedrooms and living rooms, anywhere people look up. SLEEK is flat and near flush at 35 mm, so it suits the shallowest ceilings and nearly vanishes. Do not mix them in one room — two fascia depths on one ceiling is visible.
Probably. It accepts anything from Ø90 to Ø100 mm, where most downlights specify a single cutout, so replacing old halogen usually works without patching or re-cutting. Check the void though: at 56 mm it needs a little more depth than the SLEEK.
900 lumens at 4000 K, comparable to a 50 W halogen — from 8 watts, at about 113 lumens per watt.
The datasheet is candid that the SWAP range incorporates cost-saving materials, and this is where that shows — the mainstream Domus downlights claim 50,000. At ordinary domestic use it is still well over twenty years, but on a commercial installation running long hours it is a real difference.
IP44 covers splashing water from any direction, so it is usable outside the shower zone, subject to your electrician and the zones in AS/NZS 3000. For above a bath or a genuinely wet area, ask us about the AQUA range at IP65.
About 1.5 metres from a 2.4 m ceiling, given the 60° beam.
