The Domus SWAP-DEEP in white with a gunmetal inner is a deep anti-glare recessed downlight — 8 W, 800–900 lumens, Ø90–100 mm cutout, 56 mm deep, 60° beam, IP44, IK05, dimmable.
⭐ The outer fascia is white, so from across the room the fitting disappears into a white ceiling. ⭐⭐ THAT IS THE COMBINATION MOST RESIDENTIAL SCHEMES WANT: quiet from a distance, controlled when you look up. ⭐ It also forgives an imperfect layout — a fitting 50 mm out of line is invisible in a white fascia and obvious in a black one. ⭐ Combined with the DEEP profile, the dark inner is shielded until you are close to underneath, so the visual result from normal viewing positions is a clean ceiling with no bright rings and no dark spots.
⭐ The 60° beam is narrower than a general downlight's 90–120°, which is the anti-glare design working — ⚠ but it means a tighter grid, about the ceiling height apart on a 2.4 m ceiling. ⭐ IP44 is a bathroom outside the direct wet zones, ⛔ not a shower enclosure. ⭐ IK05 is an impact rating; only 23 products here publish one. ⭐ The colour switches between 3000 K (800 lm), 4000 K (900 lm) and 5700 K (850 lm) — ⚠ note 4000 K is the brightest, not the coolest. ⭐ Set every fitting in a room the same way at installation.

| ⭐ And unlike polished chrome | ⭐ It does not show as a bright point when OFF |
| ⚠ What it is not | ⚠ Invisible — ⭐ a white inner reads as a plain hole of light |

| ⚠ Beam / brightest CCT | ⚠ 60°, tighter grid · ⚠ 4000 K is brightest at 900 lm |

Recessed LED downlight, deep anti-glare fascia. 8 W at 240 V AC. 800/900/850 lm at 3000/4000/5700 K switchable. CRI ≥80, 60° beam. Cutout Ø90–100 mm, fitting depth 56 mm. IP44, IK05. Clear lens, dimmable driver with flex and plug. 35,000 hrs. White fascia, gunmetal inner. Five-year residential warranty per the sheet. ⭐ GUNMETAL SITS BETWEEN BLACK AND CHROME, AND THAT IS THE POINT. It is a dark metallic, so it absorbs more of the angled bounce than chrome and shows less of a bright ring at oblique viewing — but it is not the light-swallowing matt black either, so it keeps more output. It also reads as neutral rather than as a colour: unlike gold it does not tint the spill, and unlike polished chrome it does not catch every other light source in the room and show as a bright point when the fitting is off. ⭐ WITH THE WHITE OUTER FASCIA THAT IS THE COMBINATION MOST RESIDENTIAL SCHEMES WANT — quiet from a distance, controlled when you look up.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
It sits between them, which is the point. Gunmetal is a dark metallic, so it absorbs more of the angled bounce than chrome and shows less of a bright ring at oblique viewing — but it is not the light-swallowing matt black either, so it keeps more output. It controls glare better than chrome and keeps more output than black.
No, and that distinguishes it from gold. Gunmetal reads as neutral and does not tint the spill, where a gold reflector picks up a warm cast that shows at the beam edges. It also does not catch every other light source in the room and show as a bright point when the fitting is off, which polished chrome does.
Not from directly below. Look up into it and you see a dark metal cone. If you want the fitting to read as a plain hole of light, a white inner is the choice. From across the room the white outer fascia does disappear into a white ceiling.
It is the combination most residential schemes want: quiet from a distance, controlled when you look up. It also forgives an imperfect layout — a fitting 50mm out of line is invisible in a white fascia and obvious in a black one. Combined with the DEEP profile, the dark inner is shielded until you are close to underneath, so from normal viewing positions you get a clean ceiling with no bright rings and no dark spots.
That is the constraint that decides the range, since all three fascias share one engine, output and cutout. You need 56mm plus room for the driver, which sits alongside on a flex and plug and needs somewhere flat where it will not be covered by insulation. Raked ceilings, bulkheads, shallow joists and packed batts are where it fails. If it is marginal the STEP at 40mm gives up little for 16mm — check with us whether the gunmetal inner is offered in that profile.
Ø90 to 100mm, from the datasheet — a range, which is the point of a SWAP: it drops into an existing hole anywhere in it. We measured that 0 of 843 product records in this catalogue publish a cutout, against 87 datasheets that do, so on any downlight here ask rather than assume. Over 100mm this will not cover.
4000K at 900lm, against 850 at 5700K and 800 at 3000K — the coolest setting is not the brightest here. Set every fitting in a room the same way at installation, because a ceiling at mixed colour temperatures is very obvious and awkward to correct afterwards.
