The Domus SWAP-DEEP in white with a gold inner is a deep anti-glare recessed downlight — 8 W, 800–900 lumens, Ø90–100 mm cutout, 56 mm deep, 60° beam, IP44, IK05, dimmable.
⭐ The outer fascia is white. ⭐⭐ SO FROM ACROSS THE ROOM THE FITTING STILL DISAPPEARS INTO A WHITE CEILING — the gold is visible only when you look up into it. ⭐ That is a more controlled way to use a metal finish than a gold outer fascia would be: the decorative element is where you notice it and absent where you do not. ⭐ It also means an imperfect layout is forgiven, which a full metal fascia would not forgive — a fitting 50 mm out of line is invisible in white and obvious in gold.
⭐ The cutout is a range, Ø90–100 mm, from the datasheet. ⭐⭐ THAT RANGE IS THE POINT OF A “SWAP”: it drops into an existing hole anywhere in it, so a failed downlight is replaced without re-cutting, patching or repainting. ⭐ 43 products here publish a cutout range. ⛔ AND 0 OF 843 RECORDS PUBLISH A CUTOUT AT ALL, against 87 datasheets that do. ⭐ On a recessed fitting it is the only dimension that cannot be corrected once cut, so measure the existing hole before ordering — ⚠ over 100 mm this will not cover.
⭐ The 60° beam is part of the anti-glare design and it implies a tighter grid — ⭐ about the ceiling height apart on a 2.4 m ceiling rather than 1.5× it. ⚠ Spaced like a 120° fitting it leaves scallops of darkness between the pools. ⭐ IP44 is a bathroom outside the direct wet zones, ⛔ not a shower enclosure. ⭐ IK05 is an impact rating, published by only 23 products here. ⭐ Dimmable with suitable dimmers; ⚠ a mismatched dimmer gives flicker and buzz rather than a clean failure. ⭐ 35,000 hrs is over thirty years at three hours a day.

Recessed LED downlight, deep anti-glare fascia. 8 W at 240 V AC. 800/900/850 lm at 3000/4000/5700 K switchable. CRI ≥80, 60° beam. Cutout Ø90–100 mm, fitting depth 56 mm. IP44, IK05. Clear lens, dimmable driver with flex and plug. 35,000 hrs. White fascia, gold inner. Five-year residential warranty per the sheet. ⭐ BLACK, CHROME AND GUNMETAL CHANGE HOW THE FITTING LOOKS. GOLD CHANGES HOW THE LIGHT LOOKS. A gold reflector is not colour-neutral, so light bouncing off it picks up a warm cast and the beam edges and spill read slightly warmer than the LED's rated colour temperature — subtle, real, most visible at the edges of the pool and on a pale wall nearby. ⭐ WHICH MAKES 3000 K THE NATURAL PAIRING: warm light through a warm reflector is coherent, where 5700 K through gold is a cool source with a warm rim and reads as neither. ⭐ THE WHITE OUTER FASCIA KEEPS IT QUIET FROM A DISTANCE — the gold is visible only when you look up into it.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
It is the one finish in this range that does. Black, chrome and gunmetal change how the fitting looks; gold changes how the light looks. A gold reflector is not colour-neutral, so light bouncing off it picks up a warm cast and the beam edges and spill read slightly warmer than the LED's rated colour temperature.
Subtle but real. It is most visible at the edges of the pool and on a pale wall nearby, and least visible directly under the fitting, where the light has not touched the reflector.
3000K. Warm light through a warm reflector is coherent, where 5700K through gold is a cool source with a warm rim and reads as neither. If you want the cool setting, take the chrome or the gunmetal instead.
Not from across the room. The outer fascia is white, so the fitting still disappears into a white ceiling and the gold is visible only when you look up into it. That is a more controlled way to use a metal finish than a gold outer fascia would be — decorative where you notice it, absent where you do not. It also means an imperfect layout is forgiven, which a full metal fascia would not forgive.
Gold is a commitment on a ceiling in a way it is not on a tap. Ten gold-ringed downlights in a white ceiling is a decorative decision, and it wants brass or gold hardware elsewhere in the room to look intentional rather than accidental.
That is the only real constraint, since all three SWAP fascias share one engine, output and cutout. You need 56mm plus room alongside for the driver. Raked ceilings, bulkheads, shallow joists and packed insulation are where it fails, and the depth is usually discovered from the ladder. If it is marginal, the STEP at 40mm gives up little glare control for 16mm — though the gold inner is a DEEP option, so check with us before assuming the finish carries across.
Ø90 to 100mm, from the datasheet — a range, which is the point of a SWAP: it drops into an existing hole anywhere in it, so a failed downlight is replaced without re-cutting, patching or repainting. No product record in this catalogue publishes a cutout: 0 of 843, against 87 datasheets that do. Measure the existing hole, because over 100mm this will not cover.
