The Domus SWAP-DEEP in white with a chrome inner is a deep anti-glare recessed downlight — 8 W, 800–900 lumens, Ø90–100 mm cutout, 56 mm deep, 60° beam, IP44, IK05, dimmable.

⭐ White outside, chrome inside — the opposite trade from black

• ⭐⭐ THE TWO SURFACES DO DIFFERENT JOBS. ⭐ The white fascia is what you see from across the room; the chrome inner is what you see when you look up into it.
• ⭐ WHITE ON A WHITE CEILING DISAPPEARS. ⭐ Ten of these in a plasterboard ceiling read as holes of light rather than as objects, which is what most residential schemes want. ⭐ It also forgives an imperfect layout in a way a black fascia does not — a fitting 50 mm out of line is invisible.
• ⭐ THE CHROME INNER REFLECTS RATHER THAN ABSORBS, so more of the light generated makes it out of the fitting. ⚠ THE TRADE IS THAT IT ALSO BOUNCES SOME OF IT OUT AT AN ANGLE, so at oblique viewing you see a bright ring where a black inner would show a dark recess.
• ⭐ THE DEEP FASCIA LARGELY COMPENSATES. ⭐ At 56 mm the emitter is set well back, so the chrome is shielded until you are close to underneath — which is why this combination works where white-on-chrome in a flat fascia would not.

⭐ 56 mm — check the void, not the ceiling

• ⭐ The SWAP range is DEEP 56 mm, STEP 40 mm, SLEEK 35 mm, all sharing one engine, one output and one cutout.
• ⭐⭐ SO THE ONLY QUESTION IS WHETHER 56 mm FITS. ⭐ Plus room alongside for the driver, which sits on a flex and plug and needs to lie flat somewhere it will not be covered.
• ⚠ THE PLACES IT FAILS ARE PREDICTABLE: ⭐ a raked ceiling where the void narrows, a bulkhead over a wardrobe, a first-floor ceiling with shallow joists, and anywhere insulation batts are packed tight.
• ⭐ CHECK BEFORE ORDERING, NOT FROM THE LADDER. ⭐ If it is marginal, the STEP at 40 mm gives up little glare control for 16 mm.

• ⭐ The cutout is a range, Ø90–100 mm, from the datasheet. ⭐⭐ THAT IS THE POINT OF A “SWAP”: it drops into an existing hole anywhere in the range, so replacing a failed downlight needs no re-cutting, patching or repainting.

⭐ 60° and the grid it implies

⭐ The 60° beam is narrower than a general-purpose downlight's 90–120°. ⭐⭐ THAT IS THE ANTI-GLARE DESIGN WORKING — less light escapes sideways — but it means a tighter grid. ⭐ On a 2.4 m ceiling, space them about the ceiling height apart rather than 1.5× it. ⚠ A 60° fitting spaced like a 120° one leaves scallops of darkness between the pools, which is the commonest reason a downlit room feels patchy. ⭐ At 800 lm each these are general lighting, not accents.

⭐ IP44, IK05 and the colour switch

⭐ IP44 covers splashing water from any direction — a bathroom outside the direct wet zones, ⛔ not a shower enclosure. ⚠ Confirm the zone. ⭐ IK05 is an impact rating, which only 23 products here publish. ⭐ The colour switches between 3000 K (800 lm), 4000 K (900 lm) and 5700 K (850 lm). ⚠ NOTE THAT 4000 K IS THE BRIGHTEST, not 5700 — the cooler setting is not the brighter one here. ⭐ Set every fitting in a room the same way at installation; a ceiling at mixed colour temperatures is very obvious and awkward to correct once everything is in.
