Deep-9 - Round 9W Colour Switchable Deepset Fixed Led Downlight 240V - Trio

The Domus DEEP-9 is a 9 W deep-set recessed downlight, IP54, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, with a 60° beam. Cutout Ø90 mm; fascia Ø100 mm; 60 mm deep.

The deep-set face is why you would choose it

• The LED sits well back from the aperture, so from a standing position you see a lit surface rather than the source.
• ✅ In a room with eight or ten downlights that is the single biggest comfort difference — a flush downlight puts a bright dot in your peripheral vision every time you look up.
• ⚠ It costs a little output for the same wattage, and that is the trade. In any room people sit in, it is worth it.
• 60 mm deep, which is shallow for a deep-set fitting.

The numbers

• 785 lm at 3000 K, 920 lm at 4000 K, 865 lm at 5000 K from 9 W.
• ⚠ 4000 K is the brightest and 3000 K the dimmest — a 17% spread, so the colour setting does change the level.
• Ø90 mm cutout — the standard Australian aperture, so it drops into most existing ceilings. Ø100 mm fascia, 120 × 120 mm overall.
• CRI ≥80, 40,000 hours, rated −20 °C to 45 °C.
• Dimmable. 240 V AC.

IP54 — what it covers

• Protected against splashing water from any direction. A bathroom ceiling outside the shower zone, a laundry, a covered alfresco — subject to your electrician and AS/NZS 3000.
• ⚠ Not IP65. Directly above a shower or in an exposed position, ask us for a higher rating.
• ✅ For most homes IP54 is the sensible default — it covers the wet rooms without paying for a rating the ceiling does not need.

Installing it, and setting the colour

• Spring clips — hold them back, insert, release. A one-person job in a Ø90 mm hole.
• ⚠ Choose the colour temperature before the fitting goes into the ceiling. The switch is on the fitting, so changing it afterwards means dropping it back out.
• ⚠ Set every fitting on a circuit the same way. One left on 4000 K in a run of 3000 K is obvious from across the room.
• 3000 K living areas and bedrooms; 4000 K kitchens, bathrooms and laundries; 5000 K garages and workshops.
