The Domus SUNSOLAR-1 is a solar-powered post-top area light — 20 W LED giving 2,100 lumens, IP65, Ø400 mm, with a 38.4 Wh battery and over 32 hours of run time. No mains cable required.

✅ The numbers that decide whether solar actually works

Most solar lights disappoint because the battery is too small. This one is specified properly:

• Battery: 6 × 32700 cells, 6.4 V, 6,000 mAh — 38.4 Wh. That is a substantial pack, not a token one.
• Charge time: 4–6 hours of good sun.
• Run time: over 32 hours. ✅ That is more than two full winter nights on a single charge — which is the figure that matters, because the risk with solar is a run of overcast days, not a single one.
• 2,100 lumens at 20 W — comparable to a mains bollard, not a token glow.

⚠ It needs sun to sit in. Under a tree canopy, on a south-facing wall or in the shadow of a building, the charge time lengthens and the run time falls. Site it in the open.

How it behaves

• It turns itself on at dusk and off at dawn. No switch, no timer, no circuit.
• 360° output through an opal diffuser — it lights an area, not a direction, which is what a post-top area light should do.
• ⚠ It does not dim, and there is no motion sensor: it runs all night at full.

✅ Two colour temperatures, and the flag is right for once

3000 K warm or 4000 K neutral, switchable on the fitting — and both give the same 2,100 lumens, so the choice costs nothing in output.

• 3000 K — a garden, a driveway, anywhere near a house.
• 4000 K — a farm gate, a yard or a parkland path, where clarity matters more than warmth.

Mounting and materials

• Head only — it suits a 60 mm post. ⚠ The post is separate; we stock the 60 mm aluminium post in 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 metre lengths.
• ✅ At 2 or 2.5 metres it becomes a genuine area light — and since there is no cable to run up the post, the taller options cost nothing extra in installation.
• ABS polymer body with a polycarbonate opal diffuser, V0 fire-rated, anti-UV and IP65.
• ✅ Nothing to corrode — Domus name it for coastal areas, and with no mains cable there is no buried conduit to fail either.

Where it works

• Farms, paddock gates, parklands and long driveways — where cable is the real cost.
• Large back yards and rural properties.
• Coastal sites — ABS and polycarbonate, nothing to corrode.
• ⛔ It needs sun. Not under a canopy or in permanent shade.
• ⚠ Head only — add a 60 mm post.
