Types of Commercial Lighting

Recessed and surface downlights handle general illumination, while high-output battens, flood lights and high-bays cover warehouses, workshops and car parks. Track and spot lighting accents retail displays and signage, and decorative pendants set the tone in cafés and reception areas. Browse LED downlights, flood lights and spot lights to build a complete scheme. For back-of-house and utility spaces, see batten fix lights.

Choosing Commercial Lighting

Match colour temperature to the task: 4000K neutral white suits offices and retail, while 5700K daylight aids clarity in workshops and industrial areas. Consider lux levels for the space — offices typically need around 300–500 lux at desk height. Choose IP-rated fittings for wet, dusty or outdoor areas, and specify quality LED drivers for reliability and long life. Layer general, task and accent light for a balanced result. Explore the broader indoor lighting range, plus LED strips for cove and display detailing.
