This is the tall square Divad — 1000mm of poly powder coated black aluminium on a square section, carrying the same 12W tri-colour LED engine as the shorter models. Height changes what the fitting is for. At a metre, the light starts higher and spreads further, so a driveway edge or a wide entry path can be covered with fewer bollards than a 600mm run would need. The trade is that the fitting is now at the height where people notice it, which is an argument for the square profile: flat faces line up with gate posts, rendered walls and paver joints instead of sitting against them.

The body is rated IP65, which is the specification that matters where sprinklers, downpipes and hoses all end up pointed at the same strip of garden.

Light output and colour temperature

The fitting draws 12W. Its LED is tri-colour, meaning the installer selects the colour temperature on the fitting rather than it being fixed at manufacture: 3000K for warm light, 4000K for neutral white, or 5500K for cool white. Output follows that selection at 960lm, 1020lm and 1080lm. Colour rendering is rated above 80 CRI, which keeps render, brick and planting reading as their real colours after dark. The Divad is not dimmable.

Nothing in the head is a serviceable lamp. The LED is integral, so there is no globe to buy with the fitting and none to replace later.

Which version you need — 240V or 24V

This page carries two versions that cannot be swapped for one another. HV1629T-BLK-240V-SQ takes 240V AC mains directly and needs no driver. HV1629T-BLK-24V-SQ takes 24V DC and requires a separate 24V DC driver, which is not included with the fitting.

On a driveway lit from scratch, the 240V version is normally the simpler run. The 24V version earns its place where a low-voltage garden system is already installed — and in that case the installed driver's spare capacity should be checked before another head is added to the circuit. Both versions are for a licensed electrician to connect.

Installation and siting

A metre-tall bollard puts more leverage on its fixing than a short one, so a concrete footing or a solid paver matters more here than on the 600mm model. Pushed into soft soil, a tall square bollard shows every degree it moves, because its faces stop lining up with whatever they were squared to.

IP65 covers dust and jetted water, not submersion, so the base should sit above the point where water pools after heavy rain. The fitting is covered by a 3 year replacement warranty.
