Divad 600mm square LED bollard in black

This is the square-profile Divad, 600mm tall in poly powder coated black aluminium. The square section is the only real difference from the round Divad — same 12W tri-colour LED engine, same IP65 body — and it is a choice about how the bollard sits in its setting rather than about how much light you get. A square post lines up with brick courses, decking boards, rendered edges and paver joints; a round one reads as softer against planting. Where a path runs beside straight built lines, the square profile tends to look deliberate rather than dropped in.

At 600mm it is the shorter of the two square Divads, which suits a garden path or a bed edge where the light needs to stay below the eye.

Light output and colour temperature

The fitting draws 12W and carries a built-in tri-colour LED. Colour temperature is selected on the fitting at installation — 3000K, 4000K or 5500K — rather than fixed when it is made, and output follows the choice at 960lm, 1020lm and 1080lm. Colour rendering is rated at 80 CRI or better. The Divad is not dimmable, so it belongs on a switched, timed or sensor-driven circuit rather than a dimmer.

There is no globe involved. The LED is integral to the fitting, so nothing needs to be bought alongside it and there is no lamp to replace down the track.

Which version you need — 240V or 24V

Two versions are sold here and they are not interchangeable. HV1628T-BLK-240V-SQ runs on 240V AC mains and needs no driver. HV1628T-BLK-24V-SQ runs on 24V DC and requires a separate 24V DC driver, which is not supplied with the fitting.

Which one is right is usually decided by what already exists on site rather than by preference: a new mains circuit suits the 240V version, while an established low-voltage garden system suits the 24V. If you are adding to a low-voltage run, confirm the installed driver still has capacity before ordering. Either version is work for a licensed electrician.

Installation and siting

The Divad is made to be fixed to a solid base — a concrete footing or a paver — rather than pushed into soft ground, and with a square profile a bollard that settles out of plumb is more obvious than a round one, because the flat faces no longer line up with whatever they were squared to.

The IP65 rating covers dust and water jetted from any direction, which is what a bollard actually meets: sprinklers, downpipes discharging across a bed, and a hose aimed at the path. It is not a rating for submersion, so a Divad does not belong at the bottom of a fall where water pools after heavy rain. Getting the base above the water line matters more to how long a bollard lasts than anything in its specification.
