A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
This is the fullest specification on the Mini/Maxi platform: the tallest body, the louvred head and the finish with no coating on it. It is also the one most often cross-shopped on numbers, so here is what is actually measured and what each figure changes on site.
The 240 V AC model runs a 9 W E27 tri-colour globe at 700 lm (3000K), 720 lm (4000K) and 740 lm (5500K). The 12 V DC model runs a 5 W MR16 at 270 lm, 285 lm and 300 lm. Both rise slightly as the colour gets cooler, which is normal and worth knowing if you are comparing against ranges where the middle setting is the brightest. What the lumen figure does not capture is that the louvres put far more of that output on the ground than a frosted diffuser does, so a louvred fitting is usually more useful than an equally-rated plain one at the same height.
Bare 316 stainless steel is the most corrosion-resistant material in this range and the one that shows neglect soonest. Havit asks for maintenance every six months, or more frequently in coastal environments, to preserve appearance and warranty, and recommends its HV9971 kit. The installation sheet states the consequence directly: regular cleaning is required to avoid tea staining, and tea staining is not covered by the warranty. Backed by a 3 Years Replacement warranty, with the HV1607 spike available where a footing is impractical.
If you are specifying a mixed run of these and the plain version, Lights For You will help you place them so the louvred ones land where the glare would otherwise be.
Identical output, identical ratings, identical body — the difference is a clear diffuser with louvres in place of a frosted one. The louvred version pushes light down and hides the source, so it suits positions in a sightline. The plain one reads as a soft point of light, which is sometimes exactly what you want.
5500K, at 740 lumens on the 240 V globe and 300 on the 12 V one. Both triples climb slightly as the colour gets cooler. That is worth checking rather than assuming, because several ranges peak at 4000K instead and the difference matters when you are comparing on paper.
A suitable 12 V DC LED driver, and the fitting must sit within 25 metres of it with the supply within ±5%. It is Class III so no earth is needed at the fitting, but it must never be connected directly to 240 V. Havit treats the distance and tolerance as warranty conditions.
Yes, up to 15 watts and LED only. Havit’s own HV9507 tri-colour MR16 is the listed 12 V DC option in 3 W, 5 W and 7 W, and it has a 60° beam against the 120° of the globe supplied — a much tighter pool, which can be exactly right or completely wrong depending on the spacing.
A clean every six months, and more often in coastal environments, with Havit’s HV9971 kit recommended for the job. This is a warranty matter rather than a cosmetic one: tea staining is specifically excluded from cover, and regular cleaning is what prevents it.
It is lower than people expect, so it is worth knowing. IP54 covers splashing water from any direction — rain, sprinkler overspray, a hose passing by — but not jets and not standing water. Mount it on its base plate above ground level, seal the cable entry, and keep it out of low spots that puddle.
It comes with the base plate, the IP-rated junction box inside the fitting and the tri-colour globe for the part number you order. What you supply is the concrete or concrete pad, the silicone, appropriate fixings for the location, and on the 12 V model the LED driver.
