Maxi 600 316 Stainless Steel Louvred

This is the fullest specification on the Mini/Maxi platform: the tallest body, the louvred head and the finish with no coating on it. It is also the one most often cross-shopped on numbers, so here is what is actually measured and what each figure changes on site.

Output, and the thing the numbers do not say

The 240 V AC model runs a 9 W E27 tri-colour globe at 700 lm (3000K), 720 lm (4000K) and 740 lm (5500K). The 12 V DC model runs a 5 W MR16 at 270 lm, 285 lm and 300 lm. Both rise slightly as the colour gets cooler, which is normal and worth knowing if you are comparing against ranges where the middle setting is the brightest. What the lumen figure does not capture is that the louvres put far more of that output on the ground than a frosted diffuser does, so a louvred fitting is usually more useful than an equally-rated plain one at the same height.

The numbers that decide the installation

• 600 mm tall, Ø102 mm body, Ø98 mm base plate with four Ø6 mm fixing holes and a Ø16 mm cable entry. The plate goes on concrete or a concrete pad, above ground level, everything siliconed — a stated warranty condition.
• IP54 splash protection and IK08 impact. IP54 is not immersion protection; keep it out of anywhere that holds water.
• Class I on 240 V AC with an earth, Class III on 12 V DC with a suitable 12 V DC LED driver and no direct connection to 240 V. Low voltage runs are capped at 25 m from the driver with the supply within ±5%.
• 15 W maximum globe, LED only; CRI >80; >30,000 hrs lamp expectancy; parallel wiring; not dimmable with the globes supplied. The optional HV9507 tri-colour MR16 is 12 V DC and 60°, against the supplied globe's 120°.

The finish, and the one obligation attached to it

Bare 316 stainless steel is the most corrosion-resistant material in this range and the one that shows neglect soonest. Havit asks for maintenance every six months, or more frequently in coastal environments, to preserve appearance and warranty, and recommends its HV9971 kit. The installation sheet states the consequence directly: regular cleaning is required to avoid tea staining, and tea staining is not covered by the warranty. Backed by a 3 Years Replacement warranty, with the HV1607 spike available where a footing is impractical.
