Shop online for your aluminium profile needs — one of the broadest ranges of LED aluminium extrusions in Australia. Also known as LED strip mounting profiles, strip channels, diffusers or extrusions, these anodised aluminium tracks give LED strips a neat, finished look while acting as a heatsink to extend strip life. Choose from square, winged, corner and recessed shapes in a range of sizes and finishes.

Popular Profile Types

Surface-mount square profiles suit shelves, benches and skirtings; 90-degree corner profiles throw light along walls and under overhangs; and recessed profiles sit flush into plaster or joinery. Winged (plaster-in) profiles blend seamlessly into ceilings for a trimless look. Pair your profile with the right strip from our LED strips range, and use them together with 12-volt LED lights for low-voltage installs. For a full walkthrough, read our LED strip lights buying guide.

Choosing Aluminium Profile

Measure your strip width first — most profiles fit 8mm, 10mm or 12mm strips, so check the internal channel dimension. Diffuser choice affects the finish: an opal (frosted) cover hides individual LED "dots" for a smooth line of light, while a clear cover gives maximum brightness. Match the profile depth to your strip's height, and cut extrusions to length with a fine-tooth blade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need aluminium profile for LED strips? It's strongly recommended — the extrusion dissipates heat to prolong strip life and gives a clean, professional finish with the diffuser hiding hot spots.

What diffuser hides the LED dots? An opal or frosted diffuser blends individual LEDs into a smooth line; a clear diffuser is brighter but shows each dot.
