Vostel Twin Exterior Wall Light

The Vostel EX2 is a 430 mm twin exterior wall light in solid brass or 316 stainless steel with glass — two heads, 6 W total, 245 lm at 3000 K, CRI above 90, IP65 — in antique brass, natural brass or stainless steel.

Up and down, from one point

Two heads on a 430 mm vertical bar throw light up the wall and down it from a single fixing — the classic entry treatment, and the reason to choose the twin over the single. A pair of beams grazing render or brick describes the wall, where a single downward beam just lights the ground.

Solid brass or 316 stainless — which our page never got to say

These are not painted aluminium. 316 is the marine grade of stainless, with added molybdenum specifically to resist salt, and solid brass weathers rather than corrodes. On a coastal house an ordinary exterior light fails within a couple of years and these do not.

245 lumens across two heads

3 W per head, 6 W total — our record lists 3 W, which is the per-head figure. Total output is 245 lm, almost exactly twice the single Vostel’s 125 lm, which is the consistency you want when the two are used on the same facade. It is an accent, not a security light: enough to describe a wall, not enough to light a driveway.

Natural brass ages, the others do not

Natural brass is unlacquered and will patina to a soft brown-gold outdoors. Antique brass starts dark and stays close to where it began. 316 stainless stays silver. Choose by whether you want the fitting to change.

IP65, Class II

Dust-tight and rated against water jets, so it takes open weather and hose-down. Class II — double insulated, which is a simpler exterior install than an earthed fitting. Not dimmable. A 45° beam from each head, and 0.725 kg on a 55 mm backplate.

430 mm tall by 30 mm wide, projection 53 mm, backplate 55 mm, 0.725 kg, in solid brass or 316 stainless steel with a glass diffuser. Two integrated LED heads at 3 W each — 6 W total — giving 245 lm at 3000 K, included, CRI >90, 45° beam, not dimmable. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth required, IP65 — dust-tight, rated against water jets. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
