Product Description
xThe Vostel EX1 is a 205 mm single exterior wall light in solid brass or 316 stainless steel with glass — 3 W giving 125 lm at 3000 K, CRI above 90, IP65 — in antique brass, natural brass or stainless steel.
Solid brass or 316 stainless — and this is the whole point
Our page was cut off before it said so. These are not painted aluminium. Solid brass and 316 stainless steel are the two materials that survive coastal air: 316 is the marine grade, with added molybdenum specifically to resist salt, and solid brass weathers rather than corrodes. On a beachfront or near-coastal house, an ordinary exterior light fails in a couple of years and these do not. That is what you are paying for.
The old specification table said “Solid Brass” on every variant — including the stainless one. Corrected here: the two brass finishes are solid brass, the stainless variant is 316 stainless steel.
Antique brass, natural brass, or stainless
Natural brass is unlacquered and will patina — it arrives bright and goes to a soft brown-gold outdoors, which most buyers of solid brass want. Antique brass starts dark and stays closer to where it began. 316 stainless stays silver. If you want a fitting that looks the same in five years, choose stainless or antique; if you want it to age, choose natural.
A narrow bar, and 125 lumens
205 mm tall by 30 mm wide, projecting 53 mm on a 55 mm backplate. It is a slim vertical marker, and at 125 lm on a 45° beam it is exactly that — a lit accent beside a door or along a wall, not a light to see by. Plan the light and the fitting separately: a pair of these flanking an entry is architecture; one of them is not a security light.
CRI above 90 on an exterior fitting is unusual. It means brick, render, timber and stone hold their real colour under it — and on a wall wash, that is exactly where a low-CRI fitting looks cheap and grey.
IP65 and Class II
IP65 — dust-tight and rated against water jets, so it takes open weather and hose-down. It is Class II — double insulated, which for an exterior fitting is a simpler install than an earthed one. Not dimmable.

Questions
What is it actually made of?
Solid brass on the two brass finishes, and 316 stainless steel on the stainless one — with glass. Our old page was cut off before it said so, and the specification table wrongly said “Solid Brass” for every variant including the stainless.
Will it survive near the sea?
That is what it is for. 316 is the marine grade of stainless, with added molybdenum specifically to resist salt, and solid brass weathers rather than corrodes. An ordinary painted exterior light fails within a couple of years on a beachfront; these do not.
Will the brass change colour?
The natural brass will — it is unlacquered, arrives bright and goes to a soft brown-gold outdoors. Antique brass starts dark and stays close to where it began, and 316 stainless stays silver.
How bright is it?
125 lm on a 45-degree beam — an accent. A pair flanking an entry is architecture; one of these is not a security or path light.
Why does CRI matter outdoors?
Because brick, render, timber and stone are what the light lands on. Above 90 they hold their real colour; under a low-CRI fitting a wall wash looks cheap and grey.
Can it be hosed down?
Yes — IP65 is dust-tight and rated against water jets. It is also Class II, double insulated, which makes for a simpler exterior install than an earthed fitting.
Is it dimmable?
No. Fixed output at 3000 K warm white.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
