Marsten 7Lt Pendant Light

The Marsten 7Lt is a 1,500 mm linear pendant carrying seven opal matt glass shades, in antique gold or black.

Rod suspension, not cable

It hangs on rigid rods — two at 600 mm and one at 300 mm, not on flexible cord. Rods hold the bar dead level and stop it swinging or twisting, which matters on a fitting a metre and a half long. It also means the drop is set by which rods you use, not adjusted freely — plan the height with your electrician.

1.5 metres of table

Seven shades across 1,500 mm is a fitting for a long dining table or an extended island. Under 1.8 m of table it will dominate; over 2.4 m it starts to look short. That is the sweet spot to measure against.

Seven E27 globes — and they should be fancy round

The sheet specifies E27 fancy round globes, which are the small spherical ones rather than standard pear-shaped GLS. In opal matt shades on a deco fitting, that shape sits correctly; a standard globe may not fit the shade neatly. Seven at 25 W each, 175 W total, not supplied.

Assembly and installation

Assembly is required and mounting screws are included, but it is Class I — hard-wired, earth required, licensed electrician only. A 1.5 m rod-suspended fitting is not a DIY install.

Specifying it

1,500 mm long, 150 mm wide, 175 mm high, suspended on rods (2 × 600 mm + 1 × 300 mm), in iron and glass with opal matt shades. Seven E27 fancy round globes at 25 W each — 175 W total, not supplied. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years. Wipe clean with a dry cloth, no liquid cleaners.
