Edge LED Batten Light

The Edge is a 600 mm LED batten — 20 W giving 2,200 lm behind an opaline diffuser, in a powder-coated aluminium body. Battens are utility fittings, and the useful question is whether the light is even and the body will last.

An opaline diffuser, not a bare tube

The diffuser is opaline polycarbonate, so the light comes out as a continuous band rather than a visible strip of LEDs. In a laundry or garage that is the difference between a fitting that looks finished and one that looks like a work light.

Three colour temperatures — and note the range

This one switches across 3000 K, 4500 K and 6500 K, which is a wider spread than most 3 CCT fittings in this range (usually 3000/4000/5000). 6500 K is genuinely cold daylight — excellent in a workshop or garage where you want maximum clarity, and unpleasant in a living space. Choose deliberately; it is set at installation and not reachable afterwards.

Wide beam, so it covers rather than points

A 120° spread over 600 mm lights a broad area evenly. Two or three in a row down a garage or a long laundry gives continuous light with no dark bands between.

• Garages and workshops, at 6500 K for maximum clarity.
• Laundries and utility rooms, at 4500 K.
• Under-shelf and cupboard lighting in a pantry.
• Storerooms and sheds needing even, maintenance-free light.

600 mm long, 83 mm wide, 38 mm deep, in powder-coated aluminium with an opaline polycarbonate diffuser. Built-in 20 W LED giving 2,200 lm, beam 120°, 3 CCT: 3000 K / 4500 K / 6500 K. Not dimmable. 240 V, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, Class I — an earth is required. Warranty is three years.
