Modern Resin Nickel pendant Light

The Aragon is a sprayed poly-resin pendant with a nickel body and a white shade — a soft, matt form rather than a glass or metal one. Resin is why it looks substantial without weighing much, and it is also why it takes a smooth sprayed finish that glass cannot.

Choosing between the two

The number in the order code is the diameter in centimetres. PE52 is 520 mm across and suits a bedside, a small round table or a pair over a modest island. PE75 is 750 mm and is a room-anchoring fitting — it wants a dining table of at least 1.2 m or a generous entry void. A single large one almost always reads better than two mediums in the same space.

One E27, and the globe is the light

Each Aragon takes a single E27 globe up to 25 W, not supplied. Because the shade is a deep opaque resin, most of what you see is thrown down rather than out — this is a fitting for a pool of light over a surface, not for lighting a whole room. Dimming works if you fit dimmable globes; nothing in the fitting prevents it.

Where it works

• Over a dining table or island, where a downward pool of light is what you want.
• Bedsides, in the 520 mm size, hung low in place of a table lamp.
• Entry voids and stairwells, in the 750 mm size, where the form is seen from below.
• Rooms where a matt, non-reflective fitting suits better than glass or polished metal.

Specifying it

Body is sprayed poly resin in nickel with a white shade. It runs on 240 V, is IP20 and indoor only, and is Class I — it needs an earth. One E27 holder, 25 W maximum, globe not supplied. Warranty on this range is one year, not the three years most of the Telbix catalogue carries — worth knowing before you compare it against a neighbouring product.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Resin chips rather than shatters, so it travels and installs well, but it will not tolerate a solvent cleaner — a dry cloth only.
