Antique silver with a gold tinge — and that is deliberate

Not chrome, not nickel, not plain silver. Malvern’s finish is antique silver carrying a slight gold warmth, which is what stops a twelve-light crystal fitting looking cold and hotel-like. It is the detail that makes the range read as vintage rather than merely ornate, and almost nothing else in this catalogue offers it.

Crystal AND fabric, which is unusual

Most large decorative pendants pick one: crystal for sparkle, fabric for softness. The Malvern does both — fabric shades over each globe to diffuse and soften, with crystal accents on the frame to catch and throw points of light. So you get an even, comfortable light at the table and the sparkle overhead, instead of choosing between them. A bare-crystal chandelier of this size would glare at everyone seated under it.

Sized for a large room

1,020 mm across and 810 mm deep, on a 2,000 mm suspension. This is a metre-wide fitting that drops most of another metre — it needs a long dining table, a stairwell or a double-height entry, and it will dominate anything smaller.

Twelve E14 globes, not supplied

Note the base — E14 small Edison screw, not E27. 25 W each, 300 W total. Because the globes sit inside fabric and are never seen, plain warm globes are all you need — a decorative filament would be wasted. Buy all twelve from one batch; across twelve fabric shades a colour mismatch shows as a patch. Dimming is globe dependent.

Malvern is made as a wall light, a table lamp, a floor lamp and pendants in several sizes — all in the same antique silver with crystal and fabric. A twelve-light over the table with matching wall lights down the hall is genuinely one scheme.
