Domus GT-650 Monaco Exterior Pendant Light

The Domus GT-650 Monaco is an exterior pendant — a 247 mm die-cast aluminium and acrylic lantern on a 650 mm drop, IP43, taking one E27 lamp. Five powder-coated colours.

• Light die-cast aluminium body with a moulded acrylic lens.
• ⭐ The castings are made in Italy; the fitting is assembled and powder coated here. ⛔ That is on the datasheet and in no product field — which is a pity, because on a traditional exterior lantern it is exactly the sort of thing a buyer wants to know.
• ⭐ The local powder coating is also why five colours are offered on a made-to-order basis — the finish is applied here, to your order, rather than imported in one stock colour.
• ⭐ And “moulded acrylic lens” is worth noting: on these traditional Domus lanterns the aluminium in the record describes the body, and the diffuser is a moulding. ⭐ It is the same reading we offered on the Siena sphere pendants, where one listing records its material as glass.

⭐ Its datasheet publishes the post heights — and no Siena sheet does

The Monaco sheet lists every way the fitting is sold: wall bracket, post, pendant, and single, twin or triple head on a post at 1.35 m, 1.98 m, 2.35 m or 2.40 m “Plain Post”.

• ⭐ Four standard post heights, published. ⛔ The Siena sheets publish none — which is why the Siena post pages have to rely on the recorded height rather than a manufacturer's ladder.
• ⚠ We checked whether the Siena posts use these heights, and they do not. ⭐ Only one of the five Siena post heights matches this set exactly. So the two ranges do not share a post, and we are not going to imply they do.
• ⭐ For the Monaco itself, it means the range is properly documented: you can choose a configuration and a height from a published list rather than by inference.
• ⭐ Ask us for the post and bracket versions — this listing is the pendant, and the same lantern is made as a wall bracket and in one, two and three-head post arrangements.

⭐ A 247 mm lantern on a 650 mm drop

• 247 mm across, 300 mm square in plan, 650 mm overall drop.
• ⚠ On a standard 2.4 m covered ceiling that leaves the lantern at about 1.75 m — ⭐ a comfortable height over a porch, clear of head height but low enough to read as a lantern rather than a ceiling fitting.
• ⚠ Whether the drop can be shortened is not recorded, as on the Siena pendants. Ask us before a low ceiling — worth settling before a ten-day lead time starts.
• ⭐ A lantern throws differently from a sphere. The acrylic lens directs more of the light downward and less upward, so it lights the ground beneath it better than a sphere does — the practical difference between the two Domus traditions.

⛔ An E27 holder with no maximum wattage

• One E27 lamp, not included, and no maximum recorded in any source — the same gap across all these traditional ranges.
• ✅ 8–10 W E27 LED, warm at 2700–3000 K, rated for enclosed and damp use. ⚠ Ask us above about 15 W.
• ⭐ Warm light suits this fitting particularly. A die-cast lantern with an acrylic lens is a traditional form, and cool white makes it read as a utility fitting rather than a lantern.
• ⚠ Check the lamp fits — a compact globe rather than a long candle.

• Porches, verandahs and covered entries, where a lantern suits the architecture.
• Where you need light on the ground — ⭐ a lantern directs downward better than a sphere.
• Traditional and period properties, matched with Monaco wall brackets and posts.
• ⚠ Not in an exposed or unroofed position — IP43, and a pendant swings.
