The Domus CHESTER-LARGE chain pendant is the large CHESTER lantern hung on a chain — 310 mm wide, 800 mm high, die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice — the body is powder-coated in your colour after you order.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job, and ⚠ order a matched pair or run together — a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match.

⭐ 800 mm — more than twice the standard CHESTER pendant, and that decides where it goes

• ⛔ At 1.6 m people walk into it. On a standard 2.4 m porch ceiling this pendant is too low — it needs a high ceiling.
• ✅ Which is what it is for: a double-height entry, a portico, a covered walkway with a 3 m-plus ceiling, where the standard pendant would disappear.
• ⚠ Whether the chain can be shortened is not recorded, and on this fitting it is the question that decides everything. Ask us before ordering — on most chain pendants links can be removed, but this one does not say.
• ⚠ And the 800 mm is recorded as a HEIGHT, not a length. On the standard pendant the equivalent figure is recorded as a length. ⚠ So it is not certain whether 800 mm is lantern-plus-chain or the lantern alone — though at 310 mm wide, a 800 mm lantern would be an extreme proportion, so lantern-plus-chain is the likely reading.

⛔ A B22 holder with no maximum wattage

• One B22 lamp, not included, and no maximum recorded anywhere in the CHESTER family.
• ✅ A B22 LED at 9–11 W, warm, enclosed and damp rated.
• ⭐ On a pendant hanging in a tall space the lamp is seen from below and from a first-floor landing, so warm and modest beats bright — a cool globe in a large clear-ish lens becomes the brightest object in the entry.

⭐ There is a replacement lens for it

The “Requires: Lamp GT-161…” line on its datasheet is the CHESTER-LARGE series code, and the series has a GTA-161 replacement acrylic panel set sold separately. ⭐ On a pendant this matters more than on a post — the lantern hangs where people look up at it, so yellowed acrylic shows far sooner. ✅ Nothing extra is required to install it.

• Double-height entries and porticos with 3 m-plus ceilings.
• Covered walkways and colonnades, repeated, where the drop reads as deliberate.
• Above a wide front door in a house with a tall covered entry.
• ⛔ Not on a standard 2.4 m porch ceiling — use the standard CHESTER pendant.
• ⚠ Not in an exposed position — IP43, and a chain pendant swings.
