Accord Fixed Down LED Wall Light

The Accord is a fixed-down exterior wall light in powder-coated aluminium, aimed squarely at the job most people are trying to solve: a clean pool of light on the ground beside a door, a step or a path, from a fitting that does not glare back at eye level. It is a tri-colour GU10 fitting, so the light colour is set on install rather than at the checkout, and it comes in white or black. The one thing to get right before ordering is position: at IP54 the Accord handles splashing, not driving rain, so it belongs under an eave or a covered soffit rather than on an unprotected facade.

The choice to make

Finish is the purchase decision — HV3631T-WHT in white or HV3631T-BLK in black — and both carry identical performance. The colour temperature is selected on the fitting itself across three settings, with output rising as the light gets cooler: 270 lm at 3000K, 285 lm at 4000K and 300 lm at 5500K. Warm 3000K reads hospitable at an entry; 5500K gives a whiter, more security-minded light at a side door or service path. The fitting draws 5 W.

Where it works

• Under a front-door eave, washing the threshold and the top step.
• Along a covered alfresco or verandah wall, spaced to light the walking surface.
• A carport or garage-side wall protected by the roof overhang.
• A covered walkway between house and studio or granny flat.

Specifying it

The Accord runs on 240 V AC and wires straight to mains — no driver or transformer is needed. The lamp is a GU10 and it is replaceable, which is a genuine advantage on an exterior fitting: the globe can be changed without touching the housing. A different base will not fit — MR16, G9 and E14 lamps are all physically incompatible with a GU10 socket. The globe is not included, and no socket wattage ceiling is published for this fitting, so check the maximum stated on the fitting's own label before buying a globe. The IP54 rating means protection against splashing water, so keep it out of direct weather. It is not dimmable.
