Porter Square Fixed Down LED Wall Light 15w

The Porter Square is the large, plain box of the outdoor wall-light range — a 151 mm square aluminium body that throws a single wide wash straight down a wall. It is the fitting to specify when you want the light and not the luminaire: no cowl, no arm, no visible lamp, just a tempered-glass aperture flush with the underside. At 15 W it is one of the brightest fixed-down fittings in the family, which is what makes it suitable for a double-storey entry or a long rendered elevation where a smaller 3 W fitting would read as a row of dim dots.

What the 60° beam actually does

The beam is 60° and it points down only. On a wall it lays a soft-edged triangle roughly as wide as the fitting is mounted high, so at 2.2 m it covers about 2.5 m of wall and reaches the ground with usable light. That makes spacing the real decision: at 2.5–3 m centres the scallops overlap into a continuous wash, and at 4 m or more you get deliberate pools with dark between them. Both look intentional; what looks accidental is a single fitting on a wide wall.

Where it works

• Double-height entry walls and portico returns, where 1,350 lm carries far enough to matter.
• Long rendered boundary and garage elevations, spaced evenly to wash the whole surface.
• Alfresco and outdoor-kitchen walls that get hosed down — IP54 covers splashing and rain.
• Commercial frontages where a square fitting suits the architecture better than a round one.

Specifying it

The LED is built into the fitting: 15 W integrated, so there is no globe to buy, no socket to fit, and nothing to replace over its life. Tri-colour selection is set at installation and changes the output with it — 1,200 lm at 3000 K, 1,275 lm at 4000 K and 1,350 lm at 5500 K. Pick 3000 K for a warm domestic entry, 4000 K where you want the render to read crisply, 5500 K only where you genuinely want a cool commercial light. It runs on 240 V AC with no driver required, is not dimmable, and CRI is above 80. IP54 means splashing water and rain from above are within scope — it is an outdoor fitting, but not a wash-down or in-ground one. Available in white and black at the same price.
