The Barline Shadow 300 is a linear bar rather than a point source, and that is the whole point of it — instead of a bright spot on a wall you get a clean band of light with a shadow gap either side. At 300 mm long, 90 mm wide and 45 mm deep it is the shortest in the family, which makes it the one for a narrow pier, a door reveal or a stacked pair either side of an entry. The buying decision across the four Barline lengths is proportion: pick a bar that reads as part of the wall's grid, not one that fights it. Mounted vertically it stretches a low facade; horizontally it emphasises a wide one.
HV3571T-BLK and HV3571T-WHT both run on 240 V AC, so the fitting wires straight to mains and no driver is required. It is a Class I fitting and needs an earth. The LED is built in — there is no globe to buy and none can be fitted — behind a frosted Perspex diffuser that spreads the output into an even line rather than visible diodes. Tri-colour switching gives 270 lm at 3000K, 540 lm at 4000K and 290 lm at 5500K; 4000K is the bright setting on this fitting by a wide margin, which is worth knowing if you want punch from a short bar. IP65 covers direct rain and coastal weather, and IK08 handles impact at wall height. Body is aluminium in black or white powder coat. Backed by a 3-year replacement warranty.
The shadow-gap look depends on the wall being flat and the fitting being level — on a bagged or heavily textured render the gap breaks up and reads as a smear. Set the colour temperature before the fitting is closed, since the selector is not accessible afterwards without removing it from the wall.
Supplied by Lights For You — the 300 mm Barline is the length that suits a narrow pier, so measure the pier face before choosing and step up to the 600 mm if you have more than a metre to work with.
No. HV3571T-BLK and HV3571T-WHT are 240 V AC and wire directly to mains. No separate driver or transformer is required.
No. The LED is built into the fitting behind a frosted Perspex diffuser. No globe is needed and none can be fitted.
270 lm at 3000K, 540 lm at 4000K and 290 lm at 5500K. The 4000K setting is by far the brightest on this fitting.
Yes. IP65 covers direct rain and coastal weather, so it does not need an eave or a sheltered reveal.
Yes. It is rated for wall or ceiling surface mounting, so a soffit or the underside of an alfresco beam is within scope.
Yes. At 240 V it is a Class I fitting and must be earthed by a licensed electrician.
