Loren Touch Table Lamp

The Loren is a touch-controlled table lamp with a shaped metal base and a pleated ivory fabric shade, in antique gold or nickel — 412 mm tall, supplied with a 5 W E14 globe at 3000 K and a 1.8 m cord and plug.

Why a touch lamp beside a bed is worth having anyway

Even as an on-off control, the touch base solves the thing that makes bedside lamps annoying:

• No fumbling for a switch in the dark — you touch the base, anywhere.
• No cord switch to hunt for behind the table.
• ⚠ And the flip side: anything that touches the metal base can switch it — a sleeve, a book sliding across the table, a cat. Worth knowing.

The globe is included, and it is a small one

One E14 (small screw) globe at 5 W, 3000 K warm white, supplied with the lamp — which is genuinely unusual here and means it works out of the box.

• ⚠ 5 W is a low-output globe. This is an atmosphere and bedside lamp, not a reading light. If you read in bed, add a directed lamp or a wall light over the shoulder.
• ⚠ No lumen figure is recorded in any source, so we will not quote one. What we can say is that 5 W is at the low end of what E14 globes are made in.
• If you replace it, keep to E14 and warm 2700–3000 K — the ivory pleated shade is a warm material and a cool globe will look wrong through it.
• ⚠ A touch circuit is fussy about globes. If yours has one, not every LED will work correctly with it — ask us rather than guessing.

A pleated shade, and what it does

Pleating is having a moment, and it is not only decoration: the folds break the light into fine vertical bands, so the shade itself has depth and texture when lit rather than reading as a flat glowing cylinder. In ivory it warms the light slightly and casts a soft, generous glow rather than a directed one.

Antique gold or nickel

• Antique gold — warmer and softer, and it agrees with the ivory shade and with brass hardware elsewhere in a room.
• Nickel — cooler and quieter, and the safer choice in a room with chrome or brushed-steel fittings.

Both are classic shapes rather than contemporary ones — this is a lamp for a room with some traditional detail, not a minimal one.

• Bedside tables — the touch base is the reason to buy it.
• Console tables, hall tables and dressers, as a warm accent.
• Traditional and transitional interiors, alongside brass or chrome hardware.
• ⚠ Not a reading lamp — the supplied globe is 5 W.
• ⚠ Ask us about the touch behaviour if you want it to dim, and about the shade width.

Specifying it

412 mm high, 1 kg, cord 1,800 mm with a plug; ⚠ shade diameter is not recorded — ask us. In iron with a pleated fabric shade, antique gold or nickel. One E14 globe at 5 W, 3000 K, INCLUDED; ⚠ recorded as not dimmable despite the “touch” name — ask us before buying it as a dimmer. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. No electrician needed. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
