Lamar Ceramic Table Lamp

The Lamar TL is a 470 mm table lamp with a sculpted cream ceramic base and a fabric shade — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied.

Ceramic and fabric — and only half of that was on record

Our record carried no material at all, and the old page described the ceramic base alone. The datasheet says fabric and ceramic: the base is thrown ceramic, the shade is fabric. That matters because the two do different things to the light — the shade diffuses it, the glazed base reflects a little of it back up. A lamp described as “ceramic” alone sounds like a solid object; it is not.

Cream, which is harder than it looks

Cream reads warm against white walls and soft against colour — it is the finish that lets a lamp sit on a console without becoming the loudest thing there. A white ceramic lamp competes with a white wall; a cream one settles against it.

470 by 280 — a console proportion

470 mm tall and 280 mm wide. Taller than a bedside lamp and narrower than a floor-lamp shade — which puts it on entry consoles, sideboards and dressers, where you want height without width. On a bedside table it will work, but it is tall enough that a seated eye may catch the globe if the table is low.

The globe is not included

One E27 to 25 W, your choice, and dimming depends on it — a dimmable globe with a plug-in or inline dimmer will dim; a plain globe will not.

470 mm tall by 280 mm wide, cable 1,800 mm, in ceramic and fabric, cream. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
