The Kade is a 400 mm table lamp in three finishes — one E14 globe, not supplied, on 2 metres of flex.
⚠ Three finishes, and our page described only one of them. The description ended with “Black base with smoke shade”, which is one variant of three. In full:
The Kade is rated to 60 W on an E14 holder, which is high: most E14 fittings in this catalogue stop at 25 W.
That is a ceiling, not a recommendation. A 60 W incandescent or halogen globe inside a glass shade generates a great deal of heat, and there is no reason to go near it.
Fit a warm 2700 K LED at 6 to 8 W. That gives roughly the light of an old 60 W globe, runs cool, and sits far inside the limit. ⚠ Use one rated for enclosed fittings if the shade is closed — ask us, because no source says whether it is.
Our page carried a general essay about table lamps — how they set ambiance, how a designer chooses a base, how the shade and the bulb interact — and never described this one until its closing line. So, plainly:
The Kade is a 400 mm lamp, 300 mm wide, with a 120 mm base and a glass shade, on 2 metres of flex. At 400 mm it is a small-to-medium lamp — shorter than the 510 mm Malvern and the 480 mm Stylin — which makes it suited to a bedside table, a shelf or a small console rather than a large sideboard.
⚠ A 120 mm base under a 300 mm shade is a narrow footprint for a wide top. No weight is recorded, so we cannot tell you how stable it is — keep it back from the edge of a narrow table, and ask us if it is going somewhere a child, a dog or a pulled flex goes past.
2 metres of flex. Fit a globe and plug it in. ⚠ The protection class is not recorded in any source, so we cannot confirm whether it is double insulated — but it is a portable lamp with a lead, and no electrician is involved.
Dimming is not recorded anywhere either. On a fitting that simply holds an E14 it will be globe dependent, as every other E14 fitting in this range is, and on a plug-in lamp that means an inline or plug-in dimmer. Beside a bed it is worth doing — ask us and we will match the pair.
⚠ Its warranty is ONE year, not the three most of this catalogue carries — and unlike several others we have reviewed, that figure is consistent across the datasheet and our record, so it is a genuine commercial term rather than a data error. Worth knowing before you buy. If you want a table lamp with the full three-year term, ask us.
IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. (Our datasheet also records the voltage as “120/400V”, which is not an Australian supply. It runs on 240 V, as our record states.)
400 mm high by 300 mm wide, base 120 mm, flex 2,000 mm, weight not recorded — ask us, in metal and glass — antique gold with opal, black with smoke, or black with opal matt. One E14 globe to 60 W maximum — fit a warm LED at 6–8 W, not supplied; dimming is not recorded — ask us. Plug-in — no electrician required, 240 V, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. ⚠ Warranty is ONE year, and it is a genuine term.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Antique gold with opal is the softest — the opal diffuses completely so the globe is invisible and the shade glows as a whole surface, which suits a bedside. Black with opal matt gives as much light in a darker, more contemporary body. Black with smoke is the most atmospheric, but smoke glass absorbs a real share of the light, so it is noticeably dimmer on the same globe: choose it for mood, not output. Our page described only the smoke version.
A warm 2700 K LED at 6 to 8 watts, which gives roughly the light of an old 60 W globe and runs cool. The 60 W rating is a ceiling, not a recommendation — most E14 fittings here stop at 25 W, and a 60 W incandescent inside a glass shade generates a great deal of heat.
No — it has 2 metres of flex and plugs in. The protection class is not recorded in any source, so we cannot confirm whether it is double insulated, but it is a portable lamp with a lead.
