Kade 1 Light Table Lamp

⚠ Three finishes, and our page described only one of them. The description ended with “Black base with smoke shade”, which is one variant of three. In full:

• Antique gold with opal glass — warm metal, and an opal shade that diffuses completely, so the globe is invisible and the shade glows as a whole surface. The softest of the three, and the one for a bedside.
• Black with smoke glass — the most atmospheric. ⚠ Smoke glass absorbs a real share of the light, so this version is noticeably dimmer than the opal ones on the same globe. Choose it for mood, not output.
• Black with opal matt glass — the graphic frame with the bright shade: as much light as the gold version, in a darker, more contemporary body.

That is a ceiling, not a recommendation. A 60 W incandescent or halogen globe inside a glass shade generates a great deal of heat, and there is no reason to go near it.

Fit a warm 2700 K LED at 6 to 8 W. That gives roughly the light of an old 60 W globe, runs cool, and sits far inside the limit. ⚠ Use one rated for enclosed fittings if the shade is closed — ask us, because no source says whether it is.

⚠ A 120 mm base under a 300 mm shade is a narrow footprint for a wide top. No weight is recorded, so we cannot tell you how stable it is — keep it back from the edge of a narrow table, and ask us if it is going somewhere a child, a dog or a pulled flex goes past.

Dimming is not recorded anywhere either. On a fitting that simply holds an E14 it will be globe dependent, as every other E14 fitting in this range is, and on a plug-in lamp that means an inline or plug-in dimmer. Beside a bed it is worth doing — ask us and we will match the pair.

⚠ Its warranty is ONE year, not the three most of this catalogue carries — and unlike several others we have reviewed, that figure is consistent across the datasheet and our record, so it is a genuine commercial term rather than a data error. Worth knowing before you buy. If you want a table lamp with the full three-year term, ask us.

IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. (Our datasheet also records the voltage as “120/400V”, which is not an Australian supply. It runs on 240 V, as our record states.)
