The Hommer TL is a 550 mm table lamp with a 300 mm fabric shade — black with beige or natural with ivory — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on 1.8 metres of flex.
It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is Class II double insulated. Removed.
Most table lamps in this catalogue are under a kilogram. The Hommer is 2.9 kg on a 180 mm base, which means it stays where you put it when the flex is pulled and does not tip when a sleeve catches it. On a bedside table, where a lamp gets reached across in the dark, that is worth more than it sounds.
At 550 mm the bottom of the shade sits above a seated eye line beside a bed or a chair, so light comes down onto the page rather than into your face. Shorter lamps put the shade in your eyeline, which is why so many bedside lamps feel glary.
300 mm wide by 240 mm high, and opaque. Light goes up and down, not sideways, so the globe is completely hidden and you get a defined pool below and a wash on the ceiling. That makes the globe choice simple — brightness and warmth only, and a warm 2700 K suits both colourways.
Black with beige is the sharper, more contemporary pairing. Natural with ivory is softer and more tonal — closer to a single warm object — and it is the one for bohemian, coastal and French-provincial rooms.
It matches the Hommer floor lamp exactly. Same materials, same two colourways, same shade proportion — the floor lamp is 1,580 mm with a 400 mm shade. A pair works well: the floor lamp beside a chair and the table lamp on a side table, reading as one decision rather than two.
Dimming depends on the globe — our record says “No” and the datasheet says globe dependent, which is right. On a plug-in lamp that needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. Beside a bed it is genuinely worth doing. Ask us and we will match the pair. It is IP20 — indoor and dry locations only.
550 mm high by 300 mm wide, shade 300 mm wide by 240 mm high, base 180 mm, flex 1,800 mm, 2.9 kg, in iron and fabric. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent and needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. 240 V, plug-in — no electrician required, Class II — double insulated, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is double insulated — fit a globe and plug it in. Our page said otherwise, which was wrong.
