The Esmo is a sculptural ceramic table lamp with a crisp white fabric shade — one E27 globe, not supplied, on 1.8 metres of flex.
It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is Class II double insulated. Fit a globe and plug it in. Removed.
The material field was empty, on a lamp whose ceramic base is the entire product. It is worth knowing what that gets you:
⚠ And no weight is recorded anywhere. On a ceramic lamp that is the one figure that matters most — it is both the stability and the reason to be careful with it. Ask us before you put it somewhere a child, a dog or a pulled flex goes past.
The description's phrase is accurate and worth keeping: a 380 mm shade on a lamp around 630–660 mm tall is a substantial object.
At that height the bottom of the shade sits above a seated eye line, so light comes down onto the surface rather than across it. The opaque white fabric shade throws light up and down with the globe completely hidden — a defined pool below and a wash on the ceiling. On a console, a sideboard or a wide bedside table that is right; on a small bedside table it will be large.
⚠ Our sources give the height two ways — the copy says 63 cm and the specification table 660 mm. Ask us if the difference matters to your setting-out.
⚠ The maximum globe wattage is recorded two ways, and this one matters. The datasheet says 25 W; our record and the page say 40 W.
That is a safety-relevant figure — it is what tells you how much lamp the holder and the shade are built to carry. We have published the lower figure and asked Telbix to confirm.
In practice it makes no difference to what you should buy: a warm 2700 K LED E27 at 8 to 10 W gives the light of an old 60–75 W globe and sits far inside either limit. Do not fit a halogen or incandescent at anything near 40 W in a fabric shade.
Nothing shows through the shade, so brightness and warmth are the only decisions. Use warm 2700 K — against white ceramic and white fabric, cool white reads grey and clinical, and warm light is what makes a white lamp look soft.
Dimming depends on the globe. The datasheet says globe dependent and our record carried nothing at all. On a plug-in lamp that needs an inline or plug-in dimmer, and beside a bed or a reading chair it is well worth doing. Ask us and we will match the pair.
⚠ The warranty is recorded two ways. The datasheet says three years; our record and the page say one. We have published the shorter term — we would rather under-promise than sell a warranty that turns out not to exist — and asked Telbix. Ask us before you buy and we will have the answer.
Class II — double insulated, and IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, which the page did not state.
Around 630–660 mm high — our sources differ; ask us, shade 380 mm, flex 1,800 mm, in CERAMIC and fabric, white. Weight is not recorded — ask us. One E27 globe, not supplied; maximum wattage recorded as 25 W on the datasheet and 40 W in our record — use a warm LED at 8–10 W and neither matters; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, plug-in — no electrician required, Class II — double insulated, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. ⚠ Warranty is published as ONE year; the datasheet says three. Ask us.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is double insulated — fit a globe and plug it in. Our page said otherwise, which was wrong.
Ceramic, and our record did not say so at all. That matters: ceramic is dense, so a fired base puts its mass low down where you want it; a glaze has depth that a painted finish does not, which is why a white ceramic lamp looks soft where a white painted one looks flat; and small variations in glaze and form are normal. It is also breakable — unlike metal or resin, it chips or cracks if it goes over.
Not recorded anywhere — and on a ceramic lamp that is the figure that matters most, because it is both the stability and the reason to be careful. Ask us before putting it somewhere a child, a dog or a pulled flex goes past.
