The Claris TL is a 570 mm table lamp with a woven paper raffia shade on a satin iron base — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — in vintage brass, black or white.
The shade is woven paper raffia — and this is the whole lamp. A raffia weave lets light through the shade itself in a fine, irregular pattern, so the shade glows and shows its texture rather than simply blocking light. Our product record carried no material whatsoever; the sources that do describe it disagree in one respect, noted below.
One thing our sources disagree on. The Telbix datasheet says the lamp is iron, paper and plastic. The old specification table said the shade was “linen, plastic, paper” — adding linen, which nothing else mentions. We publish paper raffia, which the datasheet and the original description agree on. If the exact shade fabric matters to you, ask us and we will confirm with Telbix.
570 mm high with a 300 mm shade on a 190 mm base. That is a console and sideboard height rather than a bedside one — on a low bedside table the shade will sit near eye level when you are sitting up. At 1.3 kg it is light, which is what a raffia shade over a hollow base gives you: easy to move, and easy to knock.
Vintage brass against natural raffia is the pairing the lamp is built for — warm metal under a warm weave. Black makes the base recede so the shade floats. White is the quietest and disappears on a pale console. All satin, so nothing catches a hard reflection.
You almost certainly do not need an electrician. It is Class II — double insulated — on an 1,800 mm cable. The old page carried an electrician requirement that belongs to hard-wired fittings.
Fit a dimmable E27 and use a plug-in or inline dimmer and it dims; a plain globe will not. Our record says “No”, which is misleading — the correct answer is globe dependent. Through a raffia weave dimming is worth having: at a low level the texture is what you see.
570 mm tall by 300 mm wide, shade 300 mm by 235 mm, base 190 mm, cable 1,800 mm, 1.3 kg, in iron with a woven paper raffia shade, satin. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

Woven paper raffia on an iron base. Our product record carried no material at all — and it is the reason to buy the lamp. A raffia weave lets light through in a fine, irregular pattern, so the shade glows and shows its texture.

At 570 mm it is tall for one — on a low bedside the shade will sit near eye level when you are sitting up. It is designed for a console or a sideboard.
It is double insulated with an 1,800 mm cable, so almost certainly not. The old page carried an electrician requirement that belongs to hard-wired fittings.
