The Celsus TLS is a 395 mm table lamp with a cast stone base and a natural fabric shade in beige — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied.

Cast stone, which is why you would choose it

This is the point of the lamp, and our record had lost it — the listing said “Fabric” and nothing else. The base is cast stone: a heavy, faintly granular material that reads as quarried rather than moulded. Beside a ceramic lamp it looks matte and mineral; beside a metal one it looks warm. At 3.3 kg it also sits where you put it, which a lamp on a bedside table wants to do.

The small one of a pair

Celsus comes in two sizes and this is the smaller — 395 mm to the top of the shade, on a 130 mm base with a 250 mm shade. That is a bedside and shelf proportion: tall enough to throw light onto a book, short enough that the shade sits below eye level when you are sitting up in bed.

You almost certainly do not need an electrician. It is Class II — double insulated — on an 1,800 mm cable. The old page carried an electrician requirement that belongs to hard-wired fittings. Ask us to confirm the plug arrangement if it matters to you.

Dimming depends on the globe you fit

The lamp holder does nothing to the light level — fit a dimmable globe and use a plug-in or inline dimmer and it dims; fit a plain globe and it will not. Our record says “No” against dimmable, which is misleading: the correct answer is globe dependent.

The globe is not included

One E27 to 25 W, your choice. Beside a bed that is an argument for a warm 2700 K globe rather than a bright one — through a fabric shade, warm light is what makes the shade glow instead of simply lighting up.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
