Celsus Table Lamp Large

The Celsus TLL is a 560 mm table lamp pairing a cast stone base with a natural-toned fabric shade — in soft beige.

Cast stone, which our record does not mention

The base is cast stone, not painted metal or resin — and our product record lists the material as “Fabric”, describing the shade and missing the lamp. The stone is what gives it 4.9 kg of genuine mass, a cool, faintly textured surface that reads as material rather than finish, and the organic warmth the copy is reaching for. A metal base painted the same colour would feel entirely different in the hand.

A wide shade on a narrow base

The proportions are worth noticing: a 350 × 230 mm shade above a 130 mm base. That is a deliberately top-heavy silhouette, and it only works because the stone provides the weight low down. Visually it gives a broad, generous pool of light from a footprint that takes almost no space on a console.

Fabric over stone — the contrast is the composition

Soft above, hard below. The shade diffuses through its sides and throws light up and down, so the lamp glows while the base stays a solid quiet mass. It is the same logic as a ceramic lamp, in a more contemporary material.

Plug in and use it

Class II, double insulated, no earth required, on an 1,800 mm cable. ⚠ The old page said an electrician was required; that is boilerplate from a hard-wired fitting.

One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied

Behind fabric a plain warm globe is all you need — a decorative filament would never be seen. Dimming is globe dependent: our record says it does not dim, and the record is wrong. Fit a dimmable globe and use a plug-in or inline dimmer.
