The Cadena is a 650 mm table lamp with an adjustable micro-perforated shade in black or white — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on 1.8 metres of flex.
It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is Class II double insulated. Removed.
Our page mentioned “adjustable angles” in passing. It is the reason to buy a Cadena.
Most table lamps are fixed: they throw light up and down from wherever they stand, and that is all they do. The Cadena's shade tilts, so the same lamp can be aimed down onto a book, angled at a wall, or turned upright to wash the ceiling — and re-aimed in a second when you want something different.
Practically that makes it a reading lamp and an ambient lamp in one object, which is unusual on a table lamp and genuinely useful beside a chair.
The shade is pierced with very fine holes. That does two things at once:
So the Cadena gives you a directed pool of light plus a soft halo, which is why it works aimed at a book without leaving the rest of the room black.
Tall for a table lamp, and correctly so: at 650 mm the shade sits well above a seated eye line, so when you tilt it down it lights the page over your shoulder rather than from in front. The 200 mm base is wide, which matters on a lamp with a shade that moves off-centre — the moment you tilt it, the weight goes with it.
⚠ No weight is recorded in any source. On an adjustable lamp that is the figure that tells you whether it stays put when the shade is angled hard over. Ask us before putting it somewhere it will be knocked.
On a perforated shade the colour changes the halo as well as the look. White lets far more light through the perforations, so the shade glows brightly and the ambient contribution is larger. Black passes much less, so you get a tighter pool and a fainter shimmer — more contrast, more drama.
Dimming depends on the globe. Our record carries no value at all; the datasheet says globe dependent. On a plug-in lamp that needs an inline or plug-in dimmer. Ask us and we will match the pair. The Cadena also comes as a floor lamp with the same shade.
650 mm high by 130 mm wide, base 200 mm, flex 1,800 mm, in iron, with an adjustable micro-perforated shade. Weight is not recorded — ask us. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, plug-in — no electrician required, Class II — double insulated, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is double insulated — fit a globe and plug it in. Our page said otherwise, which was wrong.
The shade tilts, so the same lamp can be aimed down onto a book, angled at a wall, or turned upright to wash the ceiling — and re-aimed in a second. Most table lamps are fixed; this is a reading lamp and an ambient lamp in one object.
Light escapes through the fine holes as well as out of the ends, so the shade glows faintly and never reads as a hard dark cylinder even when aimed away from you. Because the holes are micro rather than cut-outs, you get a soft even shimmer rather than a projected pattern — unlike the laser-cut Valtor, which throws defined shapes.
Yes, and the height is why. At 650 mm the shade sits well above a seated eye line, so tilted down it lights the page over your shoulder rather than from in front — and the perforations keep the rest of the room from going black.
The 200 mm base is wide, which is what an off-centre shade needs. But no weight is recorded in any source, and on an adjustable lamp that is the figure that tells you whether it stays put when angled hard over. Ask us before putting it somewhere it can be knocked.
The colour changes the halo as well as the look. White lets far more light through the perforations, so the shade glows brightly and the ambient contribution is larger. Black passes much less: a tighter pool and a fainter shimmer, with more contrast.
With a dimmable E27 and an inline or plug-in dimmer. Our record carries no value; the datasheet says globe dependent.
