Arthur Ceramic Table Lamp Bronze & Rust

The Arthur is a 535 mm ceramic table lamp with a hand-applied drip glaze and a tapered fabric shade, in bronze or rust.

Drip glaze means no two are the same

The glaze is applied by hand and allowed to run down the body before firing, so every lamp carries a different pattern of pooling and thinning. That is the point of the finish — it is closer to studio pottery than to a manufactured product, and it is why the bronze and rust versions look like materials rather than colours.

Bronze or rust, both with white

Bronze is the darker, cooler of the two — a metallic brown that suits a formal room. Rust is warmer and more earthen, and reads as terracotta in daylight. Both sit under a plain white shade, which is deliberate: the base is the feature, so the shade stays quiet.

A simple tapered shade

Straightforward, unfussy, and slightly narrower at the top. It diffuses softly and directs a little more light downward, which suits a bedside or a reading table.

E27 to 25 W, not supplied

An ordinary replaceable globe. A warm globe brings out the glaze; a cool one will make the rust look grey.

Specifying it

535 mm tall, 300 mm wide, in glazed ceramic with a fabric shade on a black base, black PVC cable. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Because the glaze is hand applied, a matched pair is not possible — two lamps will be siblings, not twins. Most people find that is the appeal.
