Product Description
xThe Trin HV3112T is a square recessed step light with a built-in 3 W tri-colour LED — a clean aperture in a wall or stair riser with no visible lamp and nothing to replace. The square face suits contemporary and rendered architecture where a round aperture reads softer than intended.
240V or 12V — get this right before ordering
The two versions are not interchangeable, and the choice depends on how many fittings you are running:
- HV3112T-WHT-240V — wires straight to mains. No driver to locate or size. Requires an earth (Protection Class 1). Simplest for one or two fittings.
- HV3112T-WHT-12V — runs on 12V DC constant voltage and needs a driver sized to the whole circuit. The better choice for a run of step lights on one supply, and no earth is required.
Where it works
- Stair risers and hallways — 90–95 lm is wayfinding light, marking the step rather than lighting the room.
- Plasterboard walls — supplied with clips for Gyprock installation, so no separate mounting kit.
- Sheltered outdoor areas — IP54 suits covered porches and verandahs. For driving rain or direct hosing, choose a higher IP-rated fitting.
Specifying it
Tri-colour switching selects 3000K, 4000K or 5500K at install, so the same fitting suits a warm domestic stair or a neutral commercial one. Powder-coated aluminium in white, CRI above 80. Not dimmable. Rated lamp life under 30,000 hours. 3-year replacement warranty.

Common questions
Do I need an electrician?
Yes. Both versions are hard-wired, so a licensed electrician must install them.
Does the 12V version come with a driver?
No, the driver is sold separately. Size it to every fitting on the circuit, not just one.
Can I use it outside?
Only in sheltered spots. IP54 handles splashes, not hosing or heavy rain.
Is it dimmable?
No. You choose the colour temperature at install, but the brightness is fixed.
What size hole do I need?
43 × 43 mm without the canister, or 45 × 45 mm with it.
What is the light output?
90 lm at 3000K, 95 lm at 4000K and 92 lm at 5500K.

Warranties, Return & Refund Policy
xWarranties
For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

- Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
