White blades on a white wall is about as unobtrusive as a lit fitting gets. This is the grilled 3 W Bata in poly powder coated white — the smallest body in the range, recessed flush, with a grill across the aperture so the source stays out of a direct line of sight. On render or light-toned brick it disappears in daylight and reads only as the band of light it throws after dark.
A 3 W fitting is normally set at step or path-edge height, which is exactly where an approaching eye falls. A plain aperture at that height puts a small bright rectangle in view; the grill breaks it into a band and directs the output down the surface instead. The plain-faced HV3007T-WHT is the better choice where the run is only ever seen obliquely — along a driveway edge, say. Aperture, output, rating and price are identical between the two.
105 × 41 mm with the canister, 103 × 35 mm without, and 58 mm of depth behind the finished face — the installation sheet and Havit's product page give identical figures. The 6 W Bata needs 159 × 58 mm, so you cannot change your mind about output after the wall is cut. On rendered blockwork, depth is usually the constraint that bites first.
Spring clips for gyprock are supplied in the box alongside the canister method, so one order code serves an external wall and a lined entry ceiling. Cut a single aperture and test-fit before committing to a whole elevation.
It does not dim — Dimmable: No on both the data sheet and the installation instructions, for the 240 V and 12 V codes alike. The grilled 10 W HV3004T is Triac dimmable on its 240 V code, so the range is not consistent here and the dimmer should be settled before the wattage is. At 240 to 270 lumens this is wayfinding light rather than area light.
240 V is Protection Class 1, earth required; 12 V DC is Class 3, no earth, and needs a 12 V DC LED driver — never a direct mains connection. Keep a 12 V fitting within 25 m of its driver with supply inside ±5% of rated voltage or the warranty lapses. IP54, IK06, 120° beam, CRI above 80, frosted tempered glass, parallel wiring, a 150 mm tail, and a built-in 3 W LED on a replaceable panel with no globe and no socket. Havit asks that powder-coated 316 stainless fittings, this one included, stay 5 km from salt water.
Both supply voltages are available from Lights For You with a three-year replacement warranty, beside the plain-faced HV3007T-WHT.
Grill where the fitting is walked towards and seen head-on; plain where the run is viewed obliquely. Aperture, output, IP rating and price are the same either way.
105 × 41 mm with the canister or 103 × 35 mm without, with 58 mm of depth. On rendered block the depth usually binds first.
No — the 6 W Bata needs 159 × 58 mm. Decide the output before cutting.
No, on either supply voltage. The grilled 10 W HV3004T does dim on 240 V, so the range is inconsistent on this point.
Yes. Gyprock spring clips are supplied along with the canister option for masonry.
Havit asks that powder-coated 316 stainless fittings, including this one, be kept 5 km from salt water. Bare stainless is the finish to discuss for an oceanfront site.
No globe — the 3 W LED is built in on a replaceable panel. A 12 V DC LED driver is required for the 12 V code only.
