The 6 W Bata is the middle of Havit's brick-light range and, for most walls, the one that is actually right. It is a plain-face fitting — flat stainless cover, clean rectangular aperture — recessed so nothing protrudes into a walkway. In powder-coated black it reads as a shadow line against dark brick by day, and by night the fitting disappears entirely and only the wash on the wall is visible.
Unlike the 10 W Bata, this model has published apertures, and getting them right is the whole job. Havit gives a cut-out of 159 × 58 mm with the canister, or 155 × 50 mm without it, and an installation depth of 60 mm. Depth is the one people miss: a single skin of brick with a stud cavity behind is fine, but a solid render-on-block wall needs the recess chased out. Cut one aperture, test-fit, then do the rest — in masonry an undersized hole is a grinder job and an oversized one shows.
The 6 W Bata is more flexible than its bigger siblings because it ships with spring clips for gyprock as well as taking a canister. In masonry the canister goes in with its top level with the finished face and the body seats just behind that edge; in a plasterboard wall the clips let the fitting push in and hold itself. That single feature makes this the Bata to use where an outdoor wall turns into a lined soffit or a covered entry.
Both this fitting's data sheet and its installation instructions record Dimmable: No. The 6 W Bata cannot be dimmed on either supply voltage — which is worth knowing if you are cross-shopping the 10 W HV3003T, where the 240 V model is Triac dimmable. If the design needs a dimmer, this is not the fitting.
Both supply options are on this listing and they are electrically different products. The 240 V code is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth. The 12 V DC code is Class 3, needs no earth, and must be run from a 12 V DC LED driver — the instruction sheet says in capitals not to connect it directly to 240 V. On a 12 V run the fitting cannot be more than 25 m from its driver, with supply within ±5% of rated voltage, or the warranty is void. Wiring is parallel, and the 150 mm tail wants a soldered and heat-shrunk or gel-capped joint to stay watertight.
IP54 and IK06 behind frosted tempered glass, with a 120° beam and CRI above 80. The 6 W LED is built in — no globe, no socket — on a replaceable panel, and a slide switch on the front of that panel picks 3000 K, 4000 K or 5500 K at install for 480, 510 and 540 lumens. Havit's sheet asks that aluminium, 304 stainless and powder-coated 316 stainless fittings be kept 5 km from salt water; that applies to this black finish.
Lights For You keeps the black 6 W Bata in both voltages. The grilled equivalent is the HV3006T if you would rather not see the panel head-on.
159 × 58 mm with the canister, or 155 × 50 mm without it, and allow 60 mm of depth behind the face. Cut and test-fit one before doing a whole run.
Yes. It is supplied with spring clips for gyprock as well as accepting a canister for masonry — which makes it the Bata to use on a lined soffit or covered entry.
No. Both the data sheet and the installation instructions record it as non-dimmable, on either supply voltage. The 10 W HV3003T is Triac dimmable on its 240 V code if you need that.
Yes — it is Protection Class 1. The 12 V DC version is Class 3 and needs no earth at the fitting, but it does need a 12 V DC LED driver.
No more than 25 m on 12 V, with supply held within ±5% of rated voltage. The sheet states the warranty is void beyond that.
No. The 6 W LED is built in, on a replaceable panel. There is no socket and nothing to lamp.
Havit asks that powder-coated 316 stainless fittings — which includes this black finish — be kept 5 km from salt water. Closer than that, take advice before specifying.
