Tivah 316 Stainless Steel TRI Colour Double

316 stainless is the finish to specify near the coast, and it is the only one in this family that arrives with a maintenance schedule. Havit states both things directly: all 316 stainless fittings require regular cleaning to prevent tea staining, the recommended interval is six months and shorter in coastal air, and the warranty does not cover tea staining. On a twin-head fitting there is more surface and more shadowed detail around the two heads, which is precisely where the film forms — so the routine matters more here than on the single.

What you are actually preventing

Tea staining is a shallow tan discolouration that appears where airborne salts settle on stainless and are never rinsed off. It is not rust and it does not weaken anything; the steel underneath is unaffected, and the right cleaning product removes it. Rain does not do the job, because the faces that never get rained on are exactly the ones that stain. Havit publishes a maintenance routine and sells a kit for it. Inland, none of this is likely to trouble you — but the fitting is still specified with the routine attached.

Two heads, one stem, and the load that comes with them

Each head tilts through 90° and swivels through 270° independently, so one fitting lights two directions from a single hole and a single cable. The 1000 mm stem, 23 mm across, stands them near knee height once set — a bollard by behaviour, a spike by installation. Each head carries its own 5 W MR16, so the fitting draws 10 W: six on a run is 60 W, and a driver sized on 5 W will be short. Output is 2 x 270 lm at 3000K, 2 x 285 lm at 4000K and 2 x 300 lm at 5500K — 540, 570 or 600 lm across the fitting — with the heads wired in parallel so one globe failing leaves the other lit.

Colour, supply and the conditions on cover

• Both globes are tri-colour, each set at the globe: cover off anti-clockwise, glass out, switch on the side. Preset to 3000K.
• The beam belongs to the globes, not the housing — the supplied MR16s are 120° floods, and narrower MR16s make it a pair of spots.
• 12 V DC from a suitable 12 V DC LED driver. Do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V.
• 25 m maximum from the driver and supply within ±5% of 12 V, both stated as warranty conditions.
• Not dimmable. 2 m of reinforced cable, joints soldered and sealed. Never force a head past its stop — the internal cable twists and shorts, which is excluded.

IP65, IK08, protection class 3, CRI above 80, and a 3-year replacement warranty.
