The Strokka is the larger of Havit’s two plaster up-and-down wall lights and sits on exactly the same electrical platform as the Valec: two GU10 globes, one aimed up the wall and one down, on 240 V mains with no driver. Like every plaster fitting in the range it arrives white and can be painted, which is the whole argument for choosing plaster — finished in the wall colour it stops looking like a fitting.
Two 5 W TRI Colour GU10 globes are supplied. The fitting therefore draws 10 W in total and produces 540 lm at 3000K, 570 lm at 4000K and 600 lm at 5500K — 2 x 270, 2 x 285 and 2 x 300 lm, halved between the upward and downward throw. Stating the total rather than one globe’s share matters on a two-headed fitting, because the per-globe number describes half the light.
And because GU10 is a standard replaceable socket, those figures are true of the fitting as supplied and stop being true if the globes are swapped. The socket ceiling in that case is 35 W per lamp. With the globes that come in the box the beam is 120°, so the effect is a soft wash in both directions rather than a hard-edged pool.
They are the same price, the same output, the same lamp base and the same rating — the difference is size and shape. The Strokka is the taller and deeper of the pair, and its mounting arrangement differs: a single screw at the top of the base releases it, rather than the Valec’s two internal nuts, and the cable entry is Ø19 mm against the Valec’s Ø12 mm. Havit publishes both outlines as drawings on their data sheets; compare them against the wall you have, because with two fittings this closely matched the proportions are the decision.
The impact rating is IK01. Havit’s install sheet states in its own words that plaster is a fragile material and that mishandling the product damages it and voids the warranty. That is a siting fact, not small print: a hallway, a stairwell or a bedroom wall is the right home for it, and a busy corridor where things get carried past at shoulder height is not.
The Strokka is Triac dimmable, and Havit qualifies that carefully: its install sheet records that the globes were tested with Havit’s dimmers, that other brands may behave differently, and that a difference is not treated as a fault of the fitting. The named accessory on the data sheet is the HV9625 Triac Dimmer at 300 W of LED load, which we carry. Worth settling at quoting stage rather than discovering on site.
IP20 means indoor, dry locations only — no bathroom zone, no covered outdoor position, nothing that can catch spray. A plaster body makes that a firmer rule than usual. Installation is a licensed electrician’s job under AS/NZS 3000; the Strokka is Class 1 and requires an earth, connected before live and neutral. The remaining dimensions are an unlabelled drawing rather than a table, so check the drawing against your position before ordering rather than trusting a guess at the projection. Modifying the fitting voids the warranty.
At Lights For You we tend to reach for the Strokka when the wall is large enough that the smaller Valec would look lost on it, and we are happy to compare the two drawings with you before you commit.
Two 5 W TRI Colour GU10 globes are supplied, which is where the published 10 W and 540–600 lm totals come from. The GU10 base is a standard replaceable socket, so those figures describe the fitting as it ships and stop describing it the moment different globes go in. The socket ceiling is 35 W per lamp — do not exceed it.
It is a Triac fitting, and Havit is deliberately careful here. Its own install sheet says the globes have been tested with Havit dimmers and that other brands may not give the same result, which Havit does not classify as a fault of the fitting. The dimmer it names on the data sheet is the HV9625 Triac Dimmer, rated to 300 W of LED load, and we stock it.
No. It runs directly on 240 V AC. It is a Class 1 fitting, so it does need an earthed circuit, and the install sheet asks for the earth to be connected first.
No. It is rated IP20 — indoor, dry locations only — and it is made of plaster, so damp is doubly the wrong environment for it. A bathroom zone or any covered outdoor position needs a weather-rated fitting instead.
The 5500K setting, at 600 lm total. It is 540 lm at 3000K and 570 lm at 4000K, so output does climb with colour temperature on this fitting — but only by about 11% end to end, which is not a difference the eye reads. Choose the one that suits the room.
A single screw at the top of the base releases the mounting bracket, where the Valec uses two nuts inside the body. Fix the bracket, connect the earth first, then slide the fitting back over it. The Strokka’s cable entry is Ø19 mm; the Valec’s is Ø12 mm.
