Product Description
xThe Niro is a wall light made of acoustic felt — it absorbs sound as well as emitting light — with a reversible two-tone plate, in four colour pairs.
⚠ Confirm the electrical class with us before your electrician arrives. Our datasheet says Class III — low voltage, under 54 V, which means a driver is required. The product page says Class I — earth required, which means direct mains and no driver. The same disagreement sits on the Raxa, the other felt light in this range — so it is worth settling once. Ask us and we will confirm with Telbix.
It absorbs sound — and almost nothing else does
The body is acoustic felt, the material used in office baffles and studio panels, and it damps reflected sound in the room it hangs in. On a hard wall — plaster, concrete, glass — a pair does a small but real amount of work on echo and speech clarity. It is a light that is also a wall treatment.
Twice the light of its sibling
Worth knowing if you are choosing between the two felt fittings. The Niro gives 82 lm where the Raxa gives 42 lm — from the same 5 W. So the Niro is the brighter of the pair, though both are mood lights rather than lamps: 82 lm is still a fraction of a normal wall light. Plan your actual lighting separately.
The felt plate reverses — two colours in one product
Each Niro has a different tone on each face, and the plate flips:
- Dijon Orange on Grey
- Sage Green on Black
- Mocha Brown on Black
- Ash Black on Grey
Repaint the room in three years and you turn the plate over rather than replacing the fitting.
CRI above 90, which matters here more than usual
On a fitting whose subject is coloured felt, colour rendering is not academic — a CRI 80 source would flatten the sage green and mute the dijon orange. At >90 the felt reads as the colour you chose.
A COB LED, warm and fixed
Chip-on-board rather than a dot array, so the light it gives is even and clean rather than pixelated. 3000 K, fixed, and not dimmable.

- Hard-surfaced rooms — plaster, concrete, glass — where echo is a problem.
- Hallways, entryways and feature walls.
- Bedrooms, as colour and texture.
- ⚠ Alongside proper lighting, never instead of it.
Specifying it
1.4 kg, in acoustic felt. Integrated 5 W COB LED giving 82 lm at 3000 K, included, CRI >90. Not dimmable. 240 V, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

Questions
Does it really absorb sound?

How is it different from the Raxa?
It is brighter — 82 lm against the Raxa's 42 lm, from the same 5 W. Both are mood lights rather than lamps; the Niro is simply the less dim of the two.
Does it need a driver?
We cannot say yet. The datasheet says Class III low voltage, which needs one; the page says Class I mains, which does not. The same disagreement sits on the Raxa, so it is worth settling once — ask us before your electrician arrives.

xWarranties, Return & Refund Policy

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
