The Moreno II WB is a single wall light with a ribbed glass shade, in black, antique gold or antique silver — one E14 globe to 25 W, not supplied.

The shade is the same size on every fitting in the range — and that is more useful than it sounds. The Moreno II is made as wall lights and pendants in several sizes, and the ribbed glass shade is identical across all of them.

Most ranges scale their shades with the fitting, so a wall light beside a pendant has a visibly smaller shade and the two read as related rather than matched. Here they are exactly the same object at every scale.

So a dining room with a Moreno pendant and a hallway with Moreno wall lights read as one decision, not two purchases from the same family — which is the thing most people are actually trying to achieve and rarely can.

Ribbed glass — what it does that plain glass does not

The shade is ribbed: vertical fluting moulded into the glass, and it does three things.

  • Lit, each rib catches the light along its own length, so the shade reads as a column of bright vertical lines rather than one even glow. It has texture and movement, and it changes as you walk past.
  • Unlit, the ribbing gives the glass presence in daylight. A plain shade is a plain shade when it is off; a ribbed one is still an object — which matters on a wall light, where you look at it all day.
  • It partly conceals the globe — not hidden as behind opal, not exposed as behind clear. You see a broken, softened source.
The globe — and what to fit

One E14 to 25 W, not supplied. E14 is the small screw base, SES.

  • Use a compact globe — candle or golf-ball. Because the ribbing only partly conceals the source, a large or oddly shaped globe shows through as a shadow.
  • Warm 2700 K. Against antique gold, cool white reads green; against antique silver, it makes an already-cool metal look grey and dead.
  • Fitting a pair? Buy the two together, same brand. Through ribbed glass a colour difference is repeated along every rib, so a mismatch is more visible here than on a plain shade.

It dims, with the right globe — the datasheet says globe dependent, and our record carried no dimming value at all. On ribbed glass dimming is particularly good: low, the ribs become the only thing you see, which is the reason to choose textured glass over plain.

Three finishes, one shade
  • Black — the frame reads as a dark outline and the ribbed glass carries the fitting. The most graphic and contemporary.
  • Antique gold — warm and traditional; it sits with brass hardware, timber and warm paint, and the metal is part of the statement.
  • Antique silver — the quietest. Softer than chrome and cooler than gold, it suits grey, taupe and muted palettes where a warm metal would fight them.

The glass is the same in all three, so the light is identical — the choice is purely how much you want to see the fitting.

On a wall light that means we cannot tell you its width, its height, or — most importantly — how far it stands off the wall, which decides whether it clears a door swing or is something you brush against in a hallway. Ask us before you set out a position, and we will get the figures.

Class I — earth required, hard-wired with no lead and plug, and IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, so not a bathroom. In iron and glass. RCM approved.

Will it match a Moreno pendant exactly?

Yes, and that is unusual. Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
