The Impero WB is a 320 mm cast stone wall light in travertino beige — two E14 globes to 25 W each, not supplied — throwing light up and down.
It lights up and down — and our page was cut off before saying so. The Impero is an up-down wall light: it throws two washes of light along the wall, one rising and one falling, rather than a single pool.
On a textured surface — and cast stone beside render, brick or plaster usually sits on one — that grazing light is what reveals the texture. It also makes a 320 mm fitting light a far larger area of wall than its size suggests.
The body is cast stone, and our record listed “Iron” alone — the eleventh cast-stone product in this catalogue whose record drops the stone.
⚠ A word about the finish name. It is called “travertino beige”, which reads as travertine. The material is cast stone — a moulded stone composite — not quarried travertine. It is genuinely stone, heavy and faintly granular, and it reads as quarried; but if you are choosing between this and the Rimini, which uses real travertine, that is the difference.
Cast stone appears on table lamps throughout this catalogue, where the weight is an advantage and it sits on a surface. Putting it on a wall means carrying that weight on a fixing, which most manufacturers avoid. At 1.85 kg the Impero is manageable, but it is heavier than a comparable metal wall light — use a proper fixing rather than a plasterboard plug.
A slim vertical on an 80 mm backplate. That proportion is what makes the up-down wash work: a narrow source throws two long tapering triangles up and down the wall, where a wide one would produce two short broad ones.
⚠ No projection is recorded in any source — the figure that decides whether a wall light suits a hallway or a narrow passage. Ask us before ordering if the clearance matters.
E14 is the small screw base — a candle or golf-ball globe — two of them, to 25 W each, 50 W total. Because the light is thrown at the wall rather than into the room, use warm 2700 K: warm light on a beige stone surface is what gives the effect its character, and cool white makes cast stone look grey.
Dimming depends on the globes. Our record says “No”; the datasheet says globe dependent, and the datasheet is right — nothing in a fitting holding two E14s prevents it. On an up-down wash, dimming is especially good: low, the two triangles of light on the wall are the whole effect. Ask us and we will match a pair to your dimmer.
320 mm high by 120 mm wide, backplate 80 mm, 1.85 kg, in cast stone and iron, travertino beige textured. Projection is not recorded — ask us. Two E14 globes to 25 W each — 50 W total, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
