Grimes Gypsum indoor Wall Light 2Lt in White

The Grimes is a two-light gypsum wall fitting, 290 mm long, 90 mm high and projecting 90 mm, in a sand finish.

Plaster, so it can be painted out

Gypsum takes paint exactly as your wall does. Painted in the wall colour the Grimes disappears into the surface and reads as a shaped aperture of light rather than a fitting. That is why plaster wall lights get specified architecturally, and no metal or glass fitting can do it.

Two globes, which changes what it is for

Telbix makes five gypsum wall lights and only two carry two globes — this and the Straton. Two sources across 290 mm give a broad, even band, so the Grimes can genuinely light a corridor where the single-globe Ovita, Tolard and Desota are accent fittings.

Squarer than the Straton

The Straton is wider and flatter (300 × 65 mm, 105 mm projection) with curved edges. The Grimes is shorter, taller and shallower at 290 × 90 mm with a 90 mm projection, and strictly rectangular. Same material, a squarer block of light.

Sand finish, even unpainted

Fine-textured rather than smooth, so it already reads as wall rather than object.

Two G9 globes, not supplied

9 W maximum each. G9 is a small bi-pin capsule, not interchangeable with any screw base. Take both from one batch — a colour mismatch shows on a two-light fitting.
