The Domus DENT-1-WB is a 6 W down-facing wall light in cast aluminium, IP54, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, in textured black or textured white.
✅ IP54 means it works indoors and out — which is the point of it. Our catalogue files it under indoor wall lights and its own name calls it an exterior wall light. Both are right, and Domus says so plainly: the DENT series can be placed indoors and outdoors.
What IP54 actually permits: a front entry, a back patio, a covered alfresco, and equally a hallway, a stairwell or a bedhead indoors. ⚠ It is not IP65, so not a fully exposed wall taking driven rain, and not somewhere it will be hosed. Subject to your electrician and AS/NZS 3000.
✅ That dual use is genuinely useful: the same fitting can run from an entry, through a front door and along an internal hall, and read as one detail rather than two.
Our record shows 120°. The datasheet says 81°. We have published the datasheet figure.
6 W COB LED down-facing wall light, cast aluminium, textured black or textured white. Output 500 / 550 / 600 lm at 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, switchable. Beam 81° per the datasheet — ⚠ our record shows 120°; confirm with us before setting out a run. CRI ≥80, 50,000 hrs. ⛔ Not dimmable. 240 V AC, IP54 — suitable indoors and out; not for fully exposed or hosed positions. ✅ A 2 × 6 W up/down version exists in the same series. Warranty 3 years.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Both, and that is the point of it. Our catalogue files it under indoor wall lights and its own name calls it an exterior wall light — Domus says plainly that the DENT series can be placed indoors and outdoors, and the IP54 rating supports that. It suits a front entry, a back patio or a covered alfresco, and equally a hallway, stairwell or bedhead indoors. What it is not rated for is a fully exposed wall taking driven rain, or anywhere it will be hosed.
81° per the datasheet. Our record shows 120°, and we have published the datasheet figure. The difference matters here more than on most fittings, because the whole job is a controlled downward wash: at 81° you get a defined scallop with a visible edge, and at 120° a much wider, softer spill with a different spacing calculation along a run. If you are setting out a row, ask us and we will confirm with Domus before the fixing points go in.
Close enough that the scallops overlap. A single-direction fitting leaves a hard edge where the light stops, so a run spaced too widely reads as bright patches with dark gaps. Because the beam angle is in question, tell us the wall length and the mounting height and we will work the spacing out with the confirmed figure rather than the record.
Yes — a 2 × 6 W up/down model in the same DENT series. Ask us and we will quote them together, so a facade can mix downward-only fittings on a boundary wall with up/down ones elsewhere and still match in finish and detail.
No. The colour switch selects 3000, 4000 or 5000 K at installation and is not a control — there is no dimmable driver option. If you want the level to change, the answer is a separate circuit rather than a dimmer on this one.
3000 K, in almost every case. The 5000 K setting is the brightest here — 600 lumens against 500 — but the extra light is not worth what a cool white does to the look of a house at night. Warm light outdoors reads as light; cooler light reads as security.
Cast aluminium powder coated in a textured finish is the right construction for a wall fitting that lives outside, and the texture hides marks and handling far better than a gloss coat does. Textured black disappears against most walls at night; textured white is the better choice on rendered or light brick, where black reads as a row of dark blocks.
